Does anybody know of a good UPS plug in for the cigarette lighter of your car? I like to use my UPS pass through while I’m driving. I bought an Enercell 150 watt plug in for my car from Radio Shack and IT DOES NOT WORK !!! I was wondering if anyone else out there has had any luck with a UPS cigarette lighter plug in and could make any recommendations.

Make sure you have it pluged in correctly, and rotate it 45, to 90 degrees and keep trying. Often if its not in the perfect location/angle it won't work although its fully inserted in the plug. Hold the button down on the PT while you trying inserting the the cig lighter to USB at different angles.

My USB to cig lighter has a light on it so I know when its pluged in correctly, if yours doesn't, it could be in the socket but not contacting the points.

PV's only draw around 5 watts, so any cig to UBS should work.

Depends on your pass thru. I have a Puresmoker that runs at 5 volts and it draws 1.5 to 2 amps. Most USB car lighter adapters are rated at 500ma, 850ma or 1a (at least all the ones that I found locally and on the net). My PS unit choked these. But after some deper net searching I found a dual port unit that's rated at 2 amps. Still awaiting delivery, but I'm sure it'll do the trick for the PS.

I think the whole issue here is as Quitter mentions, the amperage coming out of the car USB adapter. I don't know where you got your USB passthru from, but, for example, the details for the 901 passthru listed at heaven-gifts say:
"Please NOTE: As this item needs a working current no less than 1300mA, it CAN NOT work with the AC-USB adapters or Car 12-24V adapters for USB charger on our website, which can provide 500mA." (1300mA = 1.3 Amps)
Quitter, do you have a link for the two amp unit?

How about that cord that goes into the USB thing, do we have to get it from ecig suppliers or can we get those somewhere out here too?

The USB passthrough is usually sold as a unit. For instance, if you wanted a 510 passthrough, you would purchase that from a supplier just as you would a battery operated unit.

Several mods are sold by people on the forum that are both battery operated and passthroughs in one unit. You simply use your own USB cable with these units to use them as a passthrough when needed.
