I just read exo's post ... great advice about the B&M's as well. And I just wanted to say that after NOT SMOKING for almost 2 months I decided I really wanted a cigarette and lit up... it was the best thing I could have done, because after vaping fruity flavors almost that whole 2 months and then I lit that cigarette...ewwwe...it was just like licking the bottom of a nasty ashtray and I had to immediately brush my teeth... After that, NEVER another Craving!!

Hi @elaine17 expat glaswegian here. I was a smoker for a decade tried quitting more than i can count, did stop for a couple of years twice but always went back. 7 months into vaping and i would never go back now. For me, i think it really switched 3 weeks in - hadn't had a cig and did not want one at all - the vape flavours are just too good.

Tried a couple of drags from the missus marlboro a couple times over these last few months just to test myself, tasted vile.

All the best, you'll get over the hump i'm sure :)

I do not think cravings ever truly go away totally. But I smoked 42 years. The longer without the cravings are less frequent. Been two years for me and some days around tobacco I think yuck! Other days it grabs my attention and makes me think it smells good.
Onatrio Wheelie, Its the darndest darn thing!! Most of the time, I can now smell a tobacco smoker across the room, and think "YUCK"; yet you nailed it...then other days it does smell good. HAH!! For me Its the main reason I keep advocating not only for Vapors but for ALL ADULT Individual choices. Tobacco, Alcohol, Vaping. Our choices must remain OUR choices.

Thank all for your advice, experiances and information youve gave me. I can say the last few days have been much easier as i have bought a proper e cig!!! I feel more satisfied and the amount of vapour is greater, having that hit at the back of my throat has been amazing!! I ve still kept to 18mg nicotine and so far im definatly noticing what a better e cig has to offer.. i wont be picking up those blu things again!! Im feeling rather positive today, day16... and i really hope this continues as last week i was a mess to say the least. Your support has been amazing and advice from people that know what im going through is exactly what i need. People that have never smoked have no idea, smoking and me were two peas in pod... but no more im enjoying viping and am going to get some flavour juice and try adding few drops. I can understand people say about smells and taste, my nose has a new lease of life and ive been washing my dogs bed daily lol i cant stand the smell of tinned food and evening some of my fav fizzy drinks taste horrible...lol xxx
Congrats!! Elanie17, you're absolutely beyond the worst of it! Give yourself a big pat on the back, honor your achievement. It is no small task. Woot, Woop Hurray!
SO btw, the vape "hobby" (much better than "habit" for smoking), can be much less costly than smoking. Once I invested in reliable gear, batteries, charger- it was only the juice for a monthly budget. Ppl here DIY on the juice too. It can be low "p's per day" !! Woot, Yippe, Hurrah!
you also can have a bell curve of spending sprees, LOL! Ppl luv to send off and see whats about to arrive in the vape mail too. new, healthier options for you.
All the best

Im so over whelmed about the amount of support im receiving on here. I don't always get time to come on here and seeing so many people eager to help me though this journey is inspiring :) day 18 tomorrow cant quite believe it! would never of imagined myself saying i havent had a cigarette for 18 days... absolutely crazy feeling. I bought a strawberry milkshake flavour nicotine liquid other day and it tasted great, although im also enjoying my tobacco flavour as it feels closer to what im used to!! anyone got any flavours they would recommend? ? Also my friend who smokes says she is going to buy e cig on monday :) and i also bought my mums partner an e cig and hes been using it for 3 days!! hes a 40 year smoker!! Ive been putting all your good advice to use and im sure my friends are fed up of me talking about my e cig and how many days lol i think i might well be annoying people haha and ive noticed how i have more money already so i look forward to having something left in bank at end of month unlike before !!! I only have the one decent e cig on the go at mo, how many do you have? if i lost it i would be off on one lol . thanks again for all your support..xx

congrats, sister! you are SO on the right track!

you can use the reply button (lower right corner of someone's post) to highlight their text and respond to it...

and if at all possible, it's always a good idea to have a backup tank/ device - just in case

vape on, sister!

Really glad all is going well for you Elaine!!!! I am also going to advise maybe unflavored juice. I was a 28 yr smoker at 1-2 packs a day. It took me 3 and a half months of dual use before I made the transition. Everyone is different. Unflavored 24 mg is what made it work for me. I could not stand the taste of tobacco flavored ejiuce and the other flavors made it seem like I wasn't even doing anything. The taste they where supposed to be wasn't there fully as smoking threw my sense of taste into a tornado. Also congrats to your moms partner. It is a great feeling knowing that your also helping out others. I did that with my dad. He was a 57 year smoker and now is down to less than one smoke a day without even trying to quit also using Unflavored 24mg. A word of caution though, I would not suggest using 24 mg on any sub-ohm coil setup. When you hear people using 6 or 3 mg nicotine, it would be due to the higher powered lower ohm set ups. ***NOT everyone will agree but most will*** There are some that I know...ok one person, that uses 12 mg on a sub ohm tank. I have also read in here that others do as well. My 24 mg Unflavored is only used with my MVP with a Kangertech Emow tank running a 1.8 ohm coil set at 9.5 watts. Hope that helps. Happy Vaping!!!!! :toast::vapor:

Congrats Elaine, You did it. DCFleugal is right, you do need another set-up. You didn't say what you ended up getting but I am glad it is working for you. If I was going to recommend another device for you, it would be the Kanger Subox Mini starter set with the .5 ohm coils, starting wattage around 18 but can be turned up to 20-25 watts. Sub Ohm (coil resitance below 1) will be more clouds and flavor and allow you to lower your nicotine maybe down to 12 and then 8 and 6 until finally you are down to 3 mg of nic. If you don't feel that you are ready for sub ohm then you can also get the coils in 1.2 which is a great vape at around 15-18 watts. Enjoy the journey, keep reading and posting questions on the forum and trying all the great flavors.
