14500 use in Provari

I generally use my AW IMR 18490/18500 batteries in the Provari. Was recently given a couple AW IMR 14500 batteries. I tried one in the Provari and it appears to work fine. Yes it is narrower but that was solved with a little foam around the battery to keep it centered in the tube. Is there anything short of the narrow configuration and reduced battery life with the 14500 that would cause harm to the Provari?

I would advise against using it because if the foam gets dislodged or heats up and melts, you are setting yourself up for a disaster. Safety first! Stick with the 18xxx batteries.

Ok, I get the safety thing, but is there any difference in the batteries short of size.

If they are 3.7 volts and IMR batteries......not that I am aware of.

Why woukd you want to use a 14500? I dont care if you have some, the battery life sucks!

Remember the " In case of emegency break glass" concept. Just inquiring if it would be a problem.
