OK, so been vaping for 15 days now. And I did a straight switch from a pack and a half or so of smokes a day directly to vapor king.
Now, I get very few urges for a smoke - I still get them, but only a couple of times a day, rather than a couple of dozen times a day, and there's no time stretch like previous quit attempts - chuff on the VK, and the craving is forgotten in a couple of quick minutes. (rather than feeling like hours of ache for a smoke)
Also, as an ultralights smoker, to get the closest to a regular smoke, the 24mg carto's are the best, however I'm barely touching them now.
The thing is, I like vaping, mebbe not as much as smoking, but it's still quite enjoyable, and I can do it anytime, so where I used to get a smoke break every 90m at work, and cram down 2 smokes in 5m, now I can have a puff on the VK anytime. Also, puffing on the VK for extended periods doesn't make me feel all gunked up, like smoking did (I mean I could still chainsmoke a pack, but it didn't leave me feeling real fresh)
Now, While I could chainvape 24's all day, I think this'd end me up with a bigger nic addiction than I had on smokes, so I've cut back to 11's and trying to go lower.
The 0's I got from Steve actually made decent pacifiers so at home, where I used to have a smoke about every 20m or so, I can go on a 0 for 15m, then a 16 for 5, etc...
Anyhows, as this, either way, ends me up going through more carts than the equivalent of smokes, I've tried making some homebrew 0 mg to refill with, and found that my first attempt isn't so crash hot, but vapable
I'm deciding I'd really like to be able to just get more fresh carts, and refill as little as possible, but gotta figure the budget out for that.
I have bought some juice and refilled successfully with that on other carts, but I still have a tendancy to vape a cart a little dry, and I'm still not organised enough to have my 'empties' properly segregated from the 'not empties', etc, so having to retest some to check they're empty, which just burns them a lil more, but I'm sure I'll get better with that stuff.
I did a bunch of further checking for budget vaping - checking out other suppliers, just to make sure I was covering my bases, and while there's a couple I might try some juice from, as they have juice mixing kits or odd flavours, it's looking like V4L is still the best value, all round. Not quite the cheapest price, but even on a budget I'm happy to pay a few cents more a cart to get something with reliable quality, colour coding, clear labeling and customer support of such high quality.
Also, I did a little math, and I think that after factoring in discount, postage and freebies, V4L still works out a lil cheaper as well as everything else.
For any vapers that have been at it longer than I, and remember their starting, and that did a straight switch (assuming anyone meets that criteria) - I was wondering how your vaping started the first week or 2 and how it has evolved over time.
