I asked her but she didn't answer my email, lol! She had the live stream for Afghans this afternoon, then some horse she follows that was racing today, then Westminster tonight so she has effectively disappeared until after the show, lol! I can't believe she forgot to tell me his name. That is so unlike her! She even does this virtual dog show online where she gets to buy, raise, and breed virtual dogs and give them all pedigrees. She's obsessed. :D
The Keeshond was pretty cute...a little high maintenance....lmaooooo

Hahahahahhaaaaaa....you know they all use "stuff"
I hear it's incredibly brutal. If an entrant catches another entrant cheating it's ON, lol! I guess they have to be SUPER worried about PETA people at these shows. I have heard horrible stories of dogs being poisoned and harmed (and just how is that "for the animals"????). It sounds like way too much drama for me, lol.

Our first Keeshond was a sweetie. She would bark like crazy at anything passing the house, but as soon as the person made it into the house, she would pounce on them and smother them with doggie kisses. The Keeshond we have now is pretty shy with strangers. When they come into the house, if she is in her crate she just keeps barking. If she is out of her crate, then she will keep her distance. Biscuit is just too friendly with people. He sees someone coming down the street, he will run right up to them even if they are two or three houses away to greet them. Holly will follow Biscuit, but she will stay just out of reach and keep barking.

I don't think they even televise the breed specific rounds. I have only ever seen the group rounds and then the best in show round. So unless she won the best in breed and made it into the best in group round, the dog won't even come up on TV.

He won today. My friend watched the live stream on...something. She's deep into it. Always has been. She is all about the Afghan Hounds. She knows the breeder personally (since the late '60s, apparently) and knows a lot of the judges, etc. It took her many years to be able to go back to a dog show after she gave up her Afghans. She goes to local ones now and re-connects with old friends and co-owners of dogs she had in the past. She can rattle off an Afghan Hound's full pedigree back 30 years! It's kinda crazy but really cool.

I cannot imagine! Its gotta burn their nose and eyes being on them like that. I had it in my hair last night too....lmao I kept getting a wiff of it, and found out it was on a strip of my hair.....

Don't forget the hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/Dawn detergent skunk odor remover. That stuff works GREAT.

A few years ago we had a male Dobie and a male (something) mutt named Flash who was my personal protector and guardian. I loved that guy. He was getting kind of old and he wasn't very fast anymore, but Cody (the Dobe) was still spry. They went after a skunk one day, and evidently Cody teased it and got out of the way, and poor Flash got a full dose of spray, right in his MOUTH. I honestly thought it was going to kill him. He staggered around gagging and vomiting for HOURS, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it except feel sorry for him. It took him a couple days to completely recover from it. :(

Lol...I swear they run them thru the dryer on low heat with a rubber soled shoe to get them to fluff

Prolly threw 'em in with that steer from a few pages back - they fluffed each other! LOL!

I find it fascinating how that last picture it looks like he actually has a frown on his face. Do they actually do that?
Lol...yep! I may be biased, but I think Huskies are closer to humans than most dogs. Between the expressions and the talking, it's like having a toddler around!
