hehe we recently started xfiles too :) but the original? or something I dunno, I'm a little confused about all that, like is there a spin off or reboot or did it go all doctor whoesque...
Yeah this new season is Skully and Mulder 15 years after the first series ended. They do go back and fill people in on stuff that happened during the first run but it's pretty hilarious if you know the back story. I am BUMMED there were only 6 episodes! I hope we don't have to wait a whole year for season 2. It's really good!!

Yeah :) The thing that's bothering me right now is everyone I've mentioned it to has said that it took 2-3 days for theirs to wake up, or they had reflux for 2-3 days after surgery. Today will be 12 days since his surgery now.

He had a really bad day today, too. The nurses couldn't get the tube in his nose and he ended up having to do it himself. Then the canister of bile fell and spilled on him and the floor. Then when they gave him his pain medication, they had to turn his stomach pump off, but they never turned it back on. He asked them about it a few times, but they kept telling him it was hooked up, and he started to get sick again. The head nurse finally came in and realized that it was hooked up to itself.
He had a MUCH bigger surgery than I had. All they did to me was pull my bowel out and run it (they saw a white spot on it during surgery) and it shocked it into silence for 3 days. I imagine a surgery as invasive as his was would take longer to recover from, but dang. 12 days is a long time. Poor guy. :( And that's horrible about him getting bile spilled on him and them not turning the stupid pump back on!! I really hope the rest of his day goes a whole lot better than that.

He can be abrasive, and hard headed in his opinion...but he is also a sharp individual and good for a lively debate. Part of his problem is he is constantly bombarded by trollish characters, which makes him constantly on the defensive. His plea for new "blood" was actually sincere...as it really is needed. Same ole faces just brings the same ole arguments. The typical trolls turned that thread into a crap fest really fast.

We have had some really great debates there in the past....I keep going back hoping to see that happen again.
There's a difference between his abrasive, and just plain mean.

And Lannie, I hear you about the contest threads. Some people are just allowed to be ugly and it's taken the fun out of most of them.

I've heard mixed reviews about the Altus, not sure if I'd pick one up.

The concept is interesting...but......that seems like a lot of money for something with a chip that could go belly up

Headin to LA
Enjoy the traffic. I remember one year we went down to Anaheim to go to Disneyland on vacation. On the drive down from the Bay Area, I made the mistake of taking a phone call from work. One of our marketing folks was like, oh since you'll be in LA, could you stop into the office and do a quick software demo? We were staying at a hotel in Anaheim and one morning I did the 20 or 25 mile drive from Disney to downtown LA to do the software demo. In rush hour traffic, it took me an hour and a half.

Driving in LA is scary at best. I did OK by myself around Oakland/Berkeley/SF....even crossed the Bay Bridge without freaking out...lol...
