18 , 24, 36 mg high?

Why do some liquid makers consider 18 or 24 their high nic stuff, others it is 36mg?

do these numbers really mean anything?

I really don't know about nicotine units of measure, but I thought mg (milligrams) was a liquid measurement. Is it proportional? Does that mean that a 30 ml bottle of 18mg has less nicotine than a 10ml bottle of 18mg?

No it's not a stupid question, it's come up before. they listed mg's is always mg's per mL.

so 36mg is 36mg nicotine per mL of total liquid volume regardless of the size of the bottle.

as for the other, why is 18 high some places and 36 is high other places.. I guess the term "high" is all relative. I don't happen to think 18mg is high so I only order juice if the mg is clearly stated (as in 24mg juice)

I think the average cig has about 8-9 mg in it. BUT: nobody knows how much nicotine is actually absorbed and every person using nicotine is absorbing it differently. Doing this kind of math won't help you in choosing what strength juice to get, if this is where you are trying to go with this.

As a rule of thumb:

most people will want to start between 18-24 mg to get them off the smokes.
very light smokers (one or two smokes a day) can usually do it on less - like 12-18 mg

There is no mathematical equation you can use to compare nic content that is finally taken in between analogs and juice. Well there are a few out there. I'll link one below that will give you an estimate after looking up the nic content of the analog in coparison but as far as being accurate, not really possible, to many variables involved.

Get different nic content and decide which is best for you. Some vape different amounts throughout the day, higher in the morning to get them going then level off to a lower amount. Some use the same all the time. It just depends on what works for you.

Generally speaking milligrams in e-liquid is a measurement of how many milligrams of nicotine are in 1 milliliter of e-liquid. So for example 36mg strength means 36 mg of nicotine per milliliter and there is about 2mg nicotine in a cigarette.

I have this crazy Idea that vendors who offer 36 mg for the same ridiculously cheap price as there 11 mg are not really adding 36 mg to the Ejuice. It doesn't make since that they could profit and more than triple the most expensive part of the juice.
