Hi All -

First, here's my recipe for Menthol Lovers and Low-Nic Users (gauged for 9.2mg nicotine level -I was shooting for 8, but 9.2 recipe allows me to just dump in the bottle of glycerin and Everclear, without having to measure - :)):

Recipe for 250 ml of e-juice:

1 Bottle (177ml) USP Vegetable Glycerin - Any pharmacy/health store
3 tsp menthol powder (Crystals can be bought at any herb shoppe -put crystals in zip-loc bag, roll with rolling pin - measure out powder) -
1 Bottle (50ml) of Everclear (buy the airline/hotel min-bar- size at local liquor store)
23 ml of VG, 100mg Nicotine unflavored - ejuice from MyFreedomSmokes.com

BE CAREFUL when Using the 100mg stuff - I buy it to mix, because at my nic levels, big $$ savings and 1 bottle lasts me 8 months or more - but there are cautionary stickers everywhere for that strength!

Menthol Flavoring - Mix 3 tsp menthol crystals powder in 50ml of Everclear - warm Everclear slightly if crystals not dissolving (I used microwave, even though I don't use it for anything else - - LOL) Basically, any mix of menthol to carrier should be 3:1.

Menthol EJuice - In container, combine menthol flavoring, 177ml (1 bottle) glycerin and 23ml of unflavored nic-juice - shake well.

Ta-Da!

I previously used this mix in KR808D-1 set-up and just ordered the egoT set-up - puffs fine in both!

Now, on to the not-so-planned-news....

I quit smoking and started vaping January, 2011 - I had planned on being nicotine/menthol free by January 2012 -

By the target date, I had adjusted my mix down to 6 mg (after two failed attempts of trying to go to zero).

Anything under 6mg and I started vaping more often, running through batteries and dreaming about having a cigarette -

After many attempts, I decided I'd rather mix the juice around 10mg - not be 'chained to my e-cig" and get through most of the situations that BEGGED for a cigarette (like driving 200+ miles in the middle of the night with a gallon of coffee to keep me awake....)

In my defense - in the past 18 months, I've moved, changed employment, cared for ill relatives and went through a separation/divorce - so upon reflection, I think I'm doing good to still be smoke-free....:)

At current mix, I have way fewer and less intense cravings. I continue to improve in all health areas and I would rather this small thing than being chained to cigs again - and I'm really not even chained to my vaping - I often go hours without even thinking about it - who would have thought?

Thanks again to the e-cig forum folks, e-cig suppliers and all you fellow vapers - couldn't have done it without ya - or at least, not as well!

Thanks for the recipe; I think I'll try it w/o the everclear and see how it works as a zero nic juice. Might also mix the vg with pg in a 50/50 ratio and see how that does.

Glad to see you've stuck with it through the many changes--I've also experienced a few in the last 6 months and have not fallen off the wagon! :)

Thanks for sharing your story. Doing better than pretty good getting through those 18 months at 10mg without relapsing. Congrats!

I'm becoming a fan of DIY plain menthol myself lately. I mix 6ml at a time right in my REO grand bottle. I use two drops of the PG Menthol flavoring from TPA with my nic base and shake it up. It's kind of boring but refreshing at the same time. Not quite ready for a 250ml commitment yet, but I'm bookmarking your recipe.

I've got it all mixed and am going to let it steep for a few hours; later today I'll give it a try!

Thanks again

I hope you like it! I like my minty flavor (probably why I get by with low nic levels! LOL) - Would love to hear if you think too strong - I had my brother try it over Christmas (he's a Marlboro red smoker) and he really gave me the surprised look - not sure if because he's not a menthol user or if the 20% flavor boost is too much for most! LOL

Thanks for the congrats AND I hope you like the flavor - as for the 250 ml - I love good food, hate to be in the kitchen all day - love vaping, hate messin' with juice/equipment all the time - so when I mix a batch of anything - it's BIG - LOL

I will also say I just moved from the KR808D (the set-up I started with) and recently got my egoT with the tank - LOVE IT! Got so tired of refilling the filler!

Cheers!

P.S. Forgot to tell ya, here's a link to an ejuice calculator - will help you size a batch to whatever you want - I use 20% flavoring and no water - AND if you're not going to use the everclear for the carrier, probably will work better with a PG/VG mix - I added the everclear because I do 100% VG - -

Happy Mixing!

is there a list for canadian suplyers to find Nicotine in canada?
or what root do i have to go to get it?

Once you have five posts under your belt, come on over to the Canada forum. (It's roughly 1/3 the way down on the main page) There's a list available by PM - just post a request in the stickied thread at the top of the page and someone will oblige you shortly.

Legislative weirdness being what it is here, we don't want to draw too much attention to our vendors.

So far so good; I had to add more menthol to get the TH I need. tastes good, plenty of vapor.

I mixed a 250 ml bottle this evening; it should last me a good while!

Thanks again

:toast: So glad you like it! I really missed the TH in the early days, but I always figured the TH came from the nicotine - so I guess now, I have adjusted - but so glad it worked for you!
