18500 3.7V Batt & 18490 3.7V IMR Enquiry

Good day fellow SG Vapers,
I have an enquiry regarding the 2 types of battery as stated above. Is there any difference between the 2? I understand that 18 stands for the width of the battery n 50/49 stands for the length of the battery... I also understand that most Vapers stand by AW IMR batteries for their personal mods.. Is there any difference in performance between AW IMR vs TrustFire/SureFirr batteries? Which would you recommend n why? N is protected batteries a necessity?
I'm awaiting for a PV which takes 18500 3.7V Batt, 16340 3.7V Batt & 18350 3.7V IMR Batt... Your kind advice & knowledge is deeply appreciated..

18500 & 18490 difference is only 1mm. Protected or not is up to you. IMR just fizzles out during a short while ICR trips and render the battery dead. In both cases you get a dead battery.

However, batteries are inherently unsafe no matter how well designed they are. It is the mitigating actions taken to minimise these risks.

Generally IMR lasts longer and packs more punch compared to ICR. It depends on whether you're after price or quality.

Thank you so much for your input... Am I also right to say that shops like black tactical & fsstoplight are the places for such batteries? Waiting eagerly for the PV to arrive.. Now for some window shopping of tanks... Anyone here has experience with tanks like the Phiniac? Is it worth purchasing one? I've had experience with the Vivi Nova tank & so far it has failed me.. Leaking issues Damn bad... The clearomizers are a hit or a miss... Looking @ DCT or glass tanks fitted with a 510LR Carto... Phiniac are looking very good... Any recommendations?

Heheheh.. Saw your pic bro already.. Nice Kokopelli Phiniac Tank u have there! I see a slotted Stainless Steel Siam Mods Drip Tip as well! \m/ I ordered mine with the Reaper design on it. Red on clear tank! N same slotted drip tip as well! Waiting impatiently for it to arrive! \m/ Good to see a fellow guitarist here...

Maybe around 2 weeks time because they need to manufacture ur tank.
