Ok after I tried to rebuilt kanger coils I finally bought a kayfun Lite Plus and an Itaste SVD (should arrive within a month).

Now, back to the question. What are some decent batteries that I can use inside the SVD. I want them to be available ffrom the UK and be fairly cheap. Preferably £10 for 2 18650s and I want some 18350s to see how the SVD works with those.

My brother has some Ultrafire 3600mah (i know not real mah), they are the yellow ones with red stripes at the bottom. Are these any good for a mod?

Thanks in advance :)

Ultrafire 3600 mAh are very likely ICR chemistry and would I hope be protected. This means they are dangerous and likely don't have the amp output to run your mod to 15 watts. You mod might also have issues with their protection circuit. Also, Ultrafire (and anything with 'fire' in the name) are some of the most counterfeited batteries on the market so you don't really know what you've got.

What you want are IMR or hybrid batteries which are not protected and have at least 6 amps maximum continuous amp output capability. Here's a chart with good data on some of the typical batteries we use for vaping. It's titled 'Sub-Ohm' but the batteries are pretty much the same for the SVD. There have been a few new batteries that have come out since that list was made, but it's a really good start.

I know where to get these in NA and China from known good battery suppliers for delivery to Canada. I'll leave it for someone who knows how to get these in the UK to add that info.

On the topic of cheap, I suggest you don't pinch too many pennies on batteries. Buy the wrong one and it can, if it goes really bad, explode in your mouth. I wrote this post on this topic a while back.

Post here or PM me with the supplier from china please. I looked at the websites from your post about battery cost, but they don't do shipping to UK (well one of them does and its $52 lol).

I have no idea whats fake out there and whats not. For example, these look to be genuine, but I don't know.

Thought so. Might as well invest in a proper battery and be safe :D

While on the subject of batteries, I am sure I should invest in a decent charger as well... "Nitecore Intellicharge i2" or "Nitecore Intellicharge i4" , are they any good and are there some alternatives at the same price range?

Fasttech is who I have ordered from in the past and had good service from. They sell clones or counterfeits too so you have to watch the wording in the description. This is a 'Authentic Samsung INR18650-25R'. As long as the word 'authentic' is in the description, no one that I know of has ever received a clone or counterfeit product.

I just added those batteries to my basket and tried to set a shipping method but none were available for batteries to Canada. I suspect the same for the UK.

You might try the ECF UK sub-forum for better help. There is a Fasttech thread there too.

There's also a guy on UKVapers who sells batteries. Torchythebatteryboy. That link is to the start of a long thread. I believe he sells a lot more batteries now than he has listed in that first post including Samsung. You'll have to figure out if he is legit, or maybe just use this as a lead to more UK suppliers.

I don't have any experience with Efest so I'll leave this to someone who does.

There are a lot of people out there who use them with no issues. I've been using a Xtar WP2 for over two years now and it's been flawless. I think it was around $20. There are some much fancier Xtar chargers out now. Efest Luc are very good. Here's a website I use for charger reviews.

Thanks for all the info you've provided. I've been reading the stickied thread (the one with many posts inside it on batteries) and I am starting to understand a bit :D

I just tried adding to UK address and noticed that no shipping options are available by default, but when I clicked on the "+ show more options", it expanded a whole list of grayed out options with "Registered Surface Mail via Hong Kong Post +$0.90 (45 to 60 days in transit)" being the available one.

So I thought, maybe you didn't click on that to expand it and registered a Canadian address (The King's University) to see if the option will be grayed out, and it was not. So you might wanna double check on the shipping options ;)

I went for the Panasonic ones instead (FASTTECH SKU 1455000) and according to the forums there, they are authentic as well (https://www.fasttech.com/forums/1455000/t/1487000/authentic).

Yes, I missed that and it works for me too. Good to know, thank you :thumb:

They are good batteries. Best of luck with them.
