im shopping for 18650 mods and looking for cheaper high mAh rated batteries but the Ultrafire 18650 XSL 2600mah Protected Button Top Rechargeable Lithium Battery Li-Ion and its 3000 mAh brother dont seem to say the c rating so I can figure out if the batt amp output is strong enough for a 3.7 volt 1.5 atty setup... 9.12 watts meaning it pulls 2.47 amps aprox. if my math is correct. any help?

Math is right. Sorry, but that is the best news I have for you.

I've played with a number of 18650's and can tell you that with the cheap ones, the current output will be clipped at the level you've got up there. Cannot tell you how much as it seems to vary from cell to cell.

If you require the full output, you'll have to spring for the AW IMR's or some other good high amp output cell.

I have run 1.5's with cheap 18650 and the batteries degrade after 3 months. Not bad, but not great. I'm down to 1/3rd the initial use time on one cell after 4 months.

I'm in the process of upgrading all my cells. (Don't mind spending the money now that I have experienced it first hand, but couldn't spend the money based on reading before. I only learn the hard way.)

One of my biggest disappointments in modding was finding that my mod batts dropped off in performance long before 510s and eGos do. I have also been replacing them with AMRs and they are worth the extra cost.

I've been using UltraFire 18650 & 14500 batteries for about 6 months. I use them on a daily basis & have experienced no problems. In the 18650 size, I use the 3600mAH, 3000mAH, and the 2400mAH in my REO & Phidias mods. I have about 20 of these & rotate them on each charge and after 6 months of use the deterioration has been slight. These batteries are costing me about $3.00 ea. on eBay, shipped from China, so the use/$$$ ratio has been excellent. I haven't tried the AW batteries & am hesitant because of the $10 ea. price tag.
