Good call. Never buy batteries from Ebay or Amazon. There are way too many counterfeits around. Our resident battery guru, Mooch, has a chart of recommended batteries. Pick one with a suitable CDR (continuous discharge rating) and buy it from one of the reliable vendors listed at the bottom of the chart:

Mooch's Recommended Batteries | E-Cigarette Forum

Xtar and Nitecore make good, less expensive chargers. You can pick up one from the battery vendors on the chart. I think the Efest LUC line is also acceptable.

I always buy direct from IMR, though you can purchase through Amazon (via IMR) if you need ultra speedy delivery. I'd go to some vape shops to look at chargers (a lot of places stock them) and then after you've decided what you like (chargers are just tricky in general and need to be handled with care) you can probably purchase it somewhere else, for much less $$$ but maybe not ebay...

Try and buy batteries from a registered supplier here or at a local shop. I bought an Xtar VC4 charger. 4 Channels and a screen that informs you of the max Mah the battery can put out. Basically informing you of when its going. It has a claim that it can recharge dead (like dead from sitting tooo long) batteries and I grabbed the old HG2 out of my Nebox that sat almost a year. Its back up to 2900mah out of the top 3000. So I give that charger a thumbs up.

As for batteries I use LG HG2s but there are a lot of fakes for those that can be dangerous. So try to buy them somewhere known for selling real batteries.

You can't go wrong there.

"Good" depends on what kind of batteries you need. I'm assuming you have a high wattage device powering a tank with a coil resistance of 1.0 ohm or lower. If that's the case, look for batteries from LG, Samsung or Sony in the 2000-3000mah range with the highest current ratings you can afford.

For a charger, you'll need a 2- or 4-bay unit from EFest, Gryfalcon, Nitecore or XTar. Can't go wrong with any of those.

A few weeks ago I found out why you do not use cheep battery chargers. I got a "Video/Digital Camera Travel Charger" with a 18650 flashlight(Torch) I wrote this at the time so I could warn others.

!!! WARNING FIRE HAZARD !!!

Within minutes of putting 2 batteries in to charge the negative tension springs got hot and started glowing. If I had not been standing there I am sure that flames would have been next. As I quickly pulled the charger from the plug throwing it in to a empty stainless steel sink.

I have been using this charger for about eight(8) months with no hint of any problems. If I had been ask how I liked the charger before this incident I would have said it was great. It is a plug into the wall socket type charger. It took a little longer to charge batteries that my Nitecore I2 and D4 Battery chargers do. None of the batteries I checked showed to be over charged. They never got hot while charging in fact the Nitecore charges seem to warn the batteries a little more than it did.

Many times I have left batteries unattended while charging. Often leaving the house or going to sleep in a different room. If this had happened at one of these time the results could have been devastating and possibly deadly. We all need to be careful when charging any batteries. Just because we have had no problems charging batteries before does not mean that we will have no problem in the future.

Some things to remember when dealing with IMR and others.

1. Charging your IMR battery over 4.25 volts can shorten its life-cycle and going over 4.5 volts can cause it to burst.

2. Do not let your batteries touch each other or other metallic items.

3. Never dispose of any battery in a fire.

4. Never leave batteries unattended while Charging.

5. Always use quality name brand products.

IMO always check with Mooch about battery true vaping power.

Better safe that sorry!

I have the Efest LUC 4. I have had it for quite a while. I don't even remember for how long, I bought it to replace a single cell charger that I already had. I'm sure that I've had it for more than three years. It has never given me a problem. Each of the four charging bays works independently with displays showing the current voltage of each. I can charge at 0.5 Amps, 1 Amp, and 2 Amps. The 2 Amp setting will only work on two bays at once though. I do have a setting that allows it to be used as a power bank. It will output to a USB plug in from whatever battery is in the second bay. I can also power it from a wall socket or a car cig lighter spot. I'm sure there are better chargers available with more features but it does the job.

You can get it from IMR for $20:

I've owned a Nitecore i4 (4 bay now down to 3 bays, bays 2 is I don't know), Efest LUC 4 (used when travelling in the RV) and Blu 6 (at home charger), and have an Xtar VC4, all 4 have worked flawlessly excluding the oldest the i4 and its problem with bay 2. Still suggested to never leave a charger unattended when charging batteries, anything can go wrong for no expected reason. @PopsVaper the Nitecore charging algorithm I have seen with the D4 and translates over to their other chargers will trickle at first to detect the battery type etc, then once that is detected it ramps up to about 0.75amps for the rapid charge, then once about 75 to 80% charge is detected it throttles down to trickle charge again at about 0.25 to 0.35amps the rest of the way, thus why it seems it is a bit warmer during that bulk charge stage at 0.5 to 0.75amps depending on how many bays are occupied, max 2 amps current pull from the AC outlet I do believe.

200W?

It's an 8W charger at best.

I think you meant to the circuit or through the batteries?
