I see no problem with your OP. You asked a direct question, that called for a direct answer. There is enough stuff around here to overwhelm anyone.

I wouldn't apologize. Then again, that's just me.

This is a noob area. If people don't want to deal with noobs and noob questions (even if you're just a noob to mechs), they should really not post here and overwhelm people. Just to show how l33t they are, or whatever.

Battery Basics for Mods contains a list of recommended high-drain IMR or IMR/hybrid batteries for use in a mechanical mod.

Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries describes what an IMR, IMR/hybrid, and ICR battery are. Explains what the letters & numbers mean on batteries.

Why is the amp rating important when choosing batteries for a mechanical mod and RBA? Explain It To The Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law calculations

Information Resources for Your First RBA An essential read and referrance guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised

Concerning battery chargers: Any charger from Pila, Xtar, Nitecore, or the Efest LUC will be appropriate for your application. The more money you invest in a charger, the more features you'll get. Considering that batteries are the MOST IMPORTANT investment you will make in your vape setup, it makes sense to use a high quality charger.

The previous recommendation of reputable vendors to purchase batteries and chargers are highly recommended to avoid getting counterfeit batteries, which is a growing problem.

Baditude-

Thanks SO much for all that! It's exactly what I needed! You're the man!

I hear ya. Just don't want to make waves is all. I'm new here, and to vaping, and I appreciate all the help and advice. Last thing I want to be is 'that annoying guy that doesn't even bother to look, before he types.' Lol! I appreciate what you said, though. This forum has been great and I sure appreciate all the help!

I never said he couldn't post a question or even a follow-up. He is free to post whenever and pretty much whatever he wants (within the rules of course). I know it gets tedious reading links (I am typically on my phone, making links tough to switch back and forth from) however, I do appreciate the ability to bookmark links and refer back to them, as well as finding my answer almost immeadiately, instead of waiting on a good answer.

I am gonna stop beating the dead horse though. Glad Baditude finally found this little thread and posted in here.

His advise and links need to be treated like gold. He is one of the most educated users on battery safety I have ever seen, and is super nice to boot.

OP: no worries to you, we aren't gonna jump down YOUR throat, can't say the same about uber sarcasm, no appologies guy in the corner. Glad you found Baditudes links helpful, like I said earlier, he is wonderful!

Don't forget to read the Ohm's law blogpost. That one is a hoot. A nice light read before you hit the sack. I personally found I knew less about the law after reading it than when I started.

I did already and I'll read it again. All those posts from Baditude were great - a real resource for someone like me, getting started.

Can't wait for my stuff to get here! LOL! I ordered 3 mods, 2 drippers, 1 RBA, 4 batteries, an Xstar 4 port charger, some 26ga & 28ga A-1 Kanthal, and a coil kit with Ohm meter. My wife says she's not interested in, "one of those big things" (LOL!) but I KNOW her too well - once she sees me using one and tries something that tastes and capes better, she'll want one! So, I got out ahead of her and got some extra. I WAS going to get a Fogger V4.1 but since the Fogger V5 is coming out in a week or so, and looks like it has a lot of improvements, I held off and will get one of the V5s, when they are released.

Always buy regulated

I was actually advised NOT to buy regulated batteries and I'm going to get a vapesafe to try. I'm pretty good at erring on the side of caution anyway, so I'm not to worried about using a unregulated mod. I WILL probably try a Provari some time soon but I really wanted to work with some old-skool mechanicals for a while. Besides, I spent enough money on what I ordered already. LOL! The tips began rolling in today and they'll help me fund my new hobby for the next 6 months. :)

I wondering
1: what it is you are 'stepping up' from
and
2: why a mech.

If you are stepping up from cigalikes or ego batteries, a regulated mod - like the provari - is the way to go.
You could always get a mech anytime (and a fuse; and a kick), but if you are going to start using rebuildables, the better way to start is on a regulated mod where you can see troubleshooting information on a screen (instead of seeing smoke as your trouble indicator).

Wow everything here has been answered. My 2¢ Sony vtc4s & 5s along with the 4bay nitecore intellicharger. They are good quality inexpensive choices. And the most important thing beyond that just keep your builds safe. .25 and above and dont hold the button down longer than 20 seconds as a rule or guideline being new to mech mods ;) and lastly dont over drain your battery till its dead you will kill the battery. Have fun and Happy Vaping!

Sorry Dykealiscious i dont have any 26650 mods although im probably gonna break down and get a few since they have gotten a little cooler selection nowadays :) in the meantime i wouldnt want to steer you wrong, since i have no personal knowledge on the subject :)
I'm in love with my 2nd big battery setup. This atty runs 4 coils with a really unique build. I'm using mnke because the Sony are SO pricey but all my 186500 are vtc5. So I plan to get tie Sony 26650 soon.
