18650 battery recommendation please

Hello,

I am having issues with my batts at the moment and wondered if anyone could help.

I have a couple of Efest 18650 (2250mah) high drain batts and they have the button top on them. I use them in an L-Rider Lavatube and an Omega. They are fine in the Lavatube but in the Omega I find the first dozen vapes are fine and after that they don't fire right away and sometimes with less consistency, i.e. I have to fire the Omega a few times before I get anything out of it. Taking the batt out I can see black deposits on the battery button, I'm assuming this is carbon.

Can someone please suggest a better batt more suited to the Omegas mechanical switch? Not sure if I should be using button or flat tops to be honest. Sick to death of having to scrape the carbon off after every few minutes or worrying that the mod itself isn't working

Any links would be greatly appreciated as I an honestly getting sick of faffing around I'm UK based but getting a decent battery from anywhere is fine.

It sounds like the Omega's contacts need a cleaning - rubbing alcohol or vodka works for dirt/juice. Button tops work fine in my Omega. A little touch with extra fine grit sandpaper or steel wool on the mod's contacts will give you better performance overall too. About once a month works for me.

Ahh brilliant, thank you and it's great to know you have an Omega too.

I had issues with mine initially (or I thought I did) it shorted out using a Nova, but more research suggested it was probably the Nova not the Omega. Even now the full size Nova won't work on it but the mini novas do, weird.

Thanks for the advice though, I was beginning to feel like the only Omega owner in the world I'll give your suggestions a go.

the nova post is known to push in the battery contac on the mods sometimes and then when rescrewed on do not make contact.

Thanks Thrasher & doots, I've heard these mentioned on the UKV forum too. Regardless of cleaning I think when it comes to new batts (or if the cleaning doesn't fix my issue for whatever reason) these might be the next purchase.

Was beginnign to thing my mod hated me.

IM running AW IMRs in my Vamo. They work great, getting at least a day and a half out of them, almost 2 full days.

from my somewhat limited research, AW and Panasonic are the top two batts for vaping.

I'm with you Guys....Panasonic 18650's are the best and Orbtronic (really good service and fast shipping) seems to have the best prices. Been using them for months w/ zero problems. They get kid glove treatment in cases and charged on Xtar SP2.
