18650 Connector Cap, were there shortcuts in production?

I have had my ProVari for four days now, and I have to say it's a great device. Though, today at work, I was changing out my battery and my connector cap slipped from my hands and plummeted three feet to the floor. I picked up the cap and tried to put it on, it wouldn't slide over the battery. Looking closely. I could see a small bend where the extension cap had met the floor. I'm not sure how happy I am that I payed an extra $20 for an extension cap that is not as durable as everyone hypes the ProVari to be.

Really? It's aluminum, not titanium and I don't even think that would survive unscathed if it was hit just right. Sorry for your loss but the law of physics won. Find a metal file and clean it up, you should be able to salvage it.

It's stainless steel, not aluminum. I'm shocked that it could get dinged enough to prevent a battery from fitting in it.
