Wow how things have changed in the few days I was gone. I had a quick question that was kinda answered by Bad in the general forum. I have a mini that I got a tatroe extension for and love it. I had seen pictures that people have used the tatroe and then added the provari extension on to the mini so they can use an 18650 battery. So I got the provari extension and adding on to my tatroe but the provari extension is not screwing all the way on. It is like the 18650 is too long. Now I did not get the AW I had to get an efest. Could that be why it is not working right. I mean it works, but i dont like the idea that the cap is not screwing on all the way. I have used the nolox so i know that is not the problem, like i said seems the battery is too long.

Wish I could help, but I only use AW batteries in my Provari's. The battery name does refer to the physical size - 18650 means 18mm in diameter, 65.0mm in length - but each company's batteries vary a tiny bit from that. My assumption would be that the efest battery is just a touch longer than the AW causing the problem.

Sorry, that's all I've got for you & I'm kind of busy today so I can't hunt down specs for you. Good luck!

Could you possibly post a pic so we may be able to see what the problem looks like?
This is my mini w/Tatroe extension ring & ProVape extension cap.
I've never had any issues with my efest batteries.

Are you using an Efest IMR or are you using a protected Efest battery? The protected ones are 69.85 mm long (about 4mm longer than an unprotected IMR battery).
This is a protected Efest 18650. They also come in a 3100 mAh size. Protected batteries are not recommended for use in a ProVari.

I would love to post a picture but every time i try it wont let me. the battery says efest 2600 mah li-ion 18650 3.7v rechargbale. this b & m sells provaris and that is why i went in there to get the battery. I should of just left without one. When i put the two caps on there is about a 1-2 mm gap in it closing all the way. i may try and hit another b & m and see if they have the aw and see if i can put it in and see if it closes all the way. even when i put this efest in it seems a little wider than the aw's that i have. May give this efest to a friend when i find the aw. just really did not want to pay for shipping on one battery.

Yep, that's your problem. That is a protected ICR battery, not a high drain battery as required for the Provari. The person who sold you that battery for a Provari doesn't really know about batteries or Provari's.

If you visit the Provape website, the product description for the Provari says at least four times to use only button-top, high-drain, AW IMR batteries.

Protected batteries are often longer than their un-protected counterpart batteries because they have a built-in chip for protection. More than likely the Provari would sense this chip as a short circuit and refuse to fire or give an error code. Regardless, this is why Provape only recommends AW IMR high drain batteries - the Provari was actually designed around the AW IMR battery.

It never hurts to have some extra batteries. RTDVapor has some good prices, is an authorized AW retailer (there's a lot of fake AW's on the market that you want to avoid) & has reasonable shipping costs. If you buy 2 or 3 of them to have in rotation, they'll last a long, long time & only have to pay a couple bucks in shipping to not have to deal with those problems again.

and to think they sells these batteries to all the people that come in and buy a provari from them. Ok well, lesson learned. I knew better, but i was in a hurry. I had run up to this place while my wife was in recovery from her surgery. Ugh! Thanks you guys. next time i will shop with a clear head.

You did shop with a clear head- you bought a ProVari! :D

Just so you realize the Provari was built around the AW battery dimensions.... To short a battery and it rattles/improper contact. To long a battery and it over compresses the cap spring or leaves a gap between cap and body.....
Don't be cheap, pay the shipping so you have the proper fitting battery for your Provari. And get a good charger if you want them to last...A PILA charger is the way to go...
