Been vaping away on my Provari for a couple days, and today went to put an 18650 in it for out and about use. Satin stainless finish. Everything works perfectly fine with the 18500 cap, flawlessly as a matter of fact, so; much to my chagrin, when I swapped out the cap and put an 18650 in it NOTHING! Battery is fine, all three of them actually ( AW IMR 18650 button tops). Now to make matters worse I tried the suggested spring stretch and y'all guessed it, I cannot get the spring back in it.

PS:
Just heard back from Provape with an RGA, They will need to adjust the board on this one. I guess it's making the trip back, nothing wrong with the cap after all...

It took me a long while, struggling to get a sprung spring back in - but it can be done.
You have to press down while turning - it THREADS into the cap...
It's worth it to have that extra time with a bigger battery!

My spring actually disappeared when it popped out - looked for hours, then ordered one.
Of COURSE I found it afterwards, so now I have an extra.
But it only came out once - no trouble since (and I have a couple extension caps, and use them a lot, and have done the spring stretch on both.

Regardless of whether I can get the spring back in or not, the cap DOES NOT MAKE CONTACT...

Not sure what you mean... even if the spring is stretched out there is no contact ? If the battery doesn't rattle there has to be contact ? Provape is there something going on with the springs lately....?

Exactly! Battery is/was tight, no rattle, no contact...

Let me ask you when screwing on the 18650 extension cap the fire button will flash once showing power contact.. Did you get that flash?
No, I did not get the flash. I have changed the 18500 batteries a bunch of times, and am quite familiar with how it works.
With the 18650 cap, No flash, nothing. Three different batteris, all the same thing, all are fully charged.
I went back to the 18500 cap and bingo! all is normal. Something about the 18650 cap is preventing the battery to connect with the device, I totally cannot understand why.

Not related and doesn't help but I decided to clean my gun outside because it was so nice and the firing spring........that makes everything work sprung out and disappeared. It took my in-laws pacing my driveway in grids and hour and a half to find it.

Wish the OP luck with their issue and sorry for the hijack.

IMR 18650 Button top!
I got the spring back in, and stretched it. I now have taken the battery in and out several times. On one try, I got the flash and unit powered up and functioned. I think there might be a tolerance issue with the machining of the cap. Maybe the well isn't cut deep enough, of the shoulder at the threads isn't cut far down enough to allow proper tension from the spring. I am going to try the old tin foil ball trick and see if I can get better connectivity.

I heard back from Provape earlier today, the board needs an adjustment to make better contact with the larger battery. I am sending the unit back with a battery so they can make the adjustment. This makes perfect sense, lower the board/increase spring tension...I will miss it while it' gone...but then again, I'll have vape mail to look forward to :)
