So i've been looking for a power bank to recharge my phone when out and about, which happens more often than i'd like... but my phone is a power hog. Anyways... I tend to carry quite a few 18650s even though i rarely go through them all. So of course it got me thinking if i could use my 18650s as a powerbank and essentially double as a battery case as well...

long story short... i came across this item on fastech and it seems to fit the bill...easily accessible battery compartment, etc...

And also, i found a review on it on youtube:

seems like itd be a good powerbank, etc... but in watching the video, it made me think if i could use this as a secondary charger as well.. it seems good, i.e. charges to 4.2volts, etc... is this fine to charge?... or am i simply better off taking them out and using my xtar? I presume its fine, but when it comes to all things battery related, its probably better to ask first...

My questions:
anyone use one of these power banks?... impressions?
okay to use as a charger for my VTC4?

I ordered this today for my son's birthday. https://www.fasttech.com/p/1434919 He is glued to his cellphone, and it runs out of charge with regularity. Since he uses egos, he can use it for his vaping needs, too.

I am happy using a 18650 in my Vamo, with a pair of 18350's as backups. I wouldn't want to weigh things down with a bunch of 18650's.

For an Ego, i can see that working quite well... never really thought about using a power bank for an ego... but then again, i don't use egos... but not a bad idea at all!!

I tend to have a good 6-8 18650s with me anyways. i'll go through 6 throughout the day as i'll pull them at 3.8v or thereabout... So i just kind of figured i could use that left over charge to charge my phone, since i probably won't need it for my vape. I COMPLETELY understand the desire to go light weight... but its not much of a concern for me as i'd be carrying the batteries anyways.

I think i'm mostly concerned with whether this unit is a suitable charger... I presume it is... but... always best to ask!

I don't use a mech mod, so really can't comment. I think the separate charger would work better, and it is a few dollars less.
