18650 vs 17670 battery?

Could anyone please tell me the major differences between these two batteries? I'm interested in a certain brand of APV but it uses the 17670 battery instead of the 18650. From what I've seen most APVs use the 18650 so I'm assuming there must be a reason for it.

Basically the difference is the dimensions

17670 is 17mm in diameter and abt 6,7cm long

18650 is 18mm in diameter and abt 6,5cm long

Just be sure to use the right batteries for the model APV you choose and be sure they are either protected or safer chemistry IMR. Be safe. bnrk

The voltage will be the same . However I think that in general 18650's will have a greater capacity as they have a larger volume

18650's are going to be a lot easier to come by, and other accessories are much more available. 17xxx batteries are somewhat rare in their use.
