I assume the same as ones listed as 18650.
I had the same question as this before because I have an old MacBook battery pack. I disassembled it and have 8 Panasonic 18650r batteries, 3000mah.
So are 18650 and 18650r the same?

The us18650gr is a sony UNPROTECTED 2550 mah 18650 li ion 3.7 volt li ion battery. They are mainly used for making laptop battery packs. When making the packs a protection circuit is added so they dont blow up. These batteries should not be used unless a protection circuit is added
