Hey all - so I just built my first micro coil. It's a 30ga 9 wrap cotton wick on an igo w. Paired up to my provari mini. I was getting 1.8 ohms on the dry burn and now that it's loaded up it's anywhere from 2.1 to 2.8. I drilled out one of the air holes to 1/16 and put tape on the other. I've got it cranked up to 4.7-4.9 volts and it hits hard. Flavor isn't the greatest but that may be the brand new bobas. I'm getting lots of vapor so I'm not really complaining just wondering if you have any suggestions?

Also when you re drip these do you just drip willy nilly through the drip tip hole or do you pull the whole top and "place" the drops? Also how many drops typically?

If post a pic but it won't let me yet...

Congrats on your first build! Mine was very similar but on an igo-l. Haven't looked back since.

Your resistance (ohms) shouldn't be jumping around like that. I've had that happen in the past, and the cause was usually that the screws were not contacting the wire properly or not tight enough. You may have a short as well, or just a wacky ohm reader. Does the coil glow evenly from the middle outwards when not wicked or juiced?

How to drip is really whatever works best for you. I used to remove the whole top cap and soak my coil and wick down really good when I began dripping; now I just drip 10 drops straight down the drip tip when I'm starting to run dry. I have a 22 mm rda (Stillare), the igo-w is a bit smaller so you may need less. That's one thing I really enjoy about using RDAs, you can tailor your experience to your exact preference.

You might wanna tighten down the screws a bit more, but not enough that it clips the wire. It's pretty strange that it's jumping around like that, not sure what the cause would be. Haven't experienced it myself. I've never tried such a high resistance coil on my dripper.

I run dual .7 micros and it hits like a train with 12 mg Andromeda from Spacejam. It really depends on what I feel like doing when I'm juicing up the wicks. My driptip is large enough in diameter that I don't even need to take it off to put a couple drops into the atomizer. If I want more accuracy, I'll take it off and aim the dropper to the specific locations of the wick. If I'm bored and want to look busy, I'll take the entire topcap off.

Thanks for the replies - I tightened the screws down pretty good to where I felt a "clink" which I'm assuming may mean I clipped the wire? It's reading steadily in the 2.2 area now and still works well. I hit it too many times and am all "smoked out". Guess that means it's working decently! I'll probably build another one tomorrow more for fun and practice than anything. Probably go 8 wraps to see what it reads. By the way I'm checking the ohms on the provari and the coil glows beautifully from the inside out.

Might mean you clipped it, wouldn't unscrew to check otherwise you'll find yourself wrapping another coil if that's the case.
As long as you have something that reads resistance you're fine. I never bought an ohm meter because of my MVP 2. Whatever works. Glad you're enjoying yourself!
