Hey everyone,

So I have been searching the web and this forum trying to understand everything and find a suitable ecig. I really just don't have enough time in my day to learn all that is needed.

Im a light smoker, but become heavy when I drink.

I want something that is black and looks somewhat similar to a cigarette. My price range is around $70. Im seeing many different brands and many different suppliers. I noticed Apollo cigs, but what can you suggest? Specific answers welcome.

Thanks for your help and your knowledge

90% of people i have seen try the analog looking " stick " battery's had little to no success in quitting. the batterys on the small device last 2hrs roughly, and vapor production is less than desired. most people will say try the Ego, roughly 8hrs battery life and you can use a a variety of options on it. or for that $70 you could get a Screwdriver kit like in my avatar- minus the tank. you have the budget, i always recommend spend it up front and it will save you more in the end

Welcome!

Although I have not used one, I hear the Ego is a great 1st mod. Search youtube and see if it fits the style your looking for. I have used the V2cig but the battery does not last long enough for me although it does come in black and does the job for me in a pinch. Stay away from the local tobacco shops as they usually sell expensive juck. This forum and youtube has been a great source of good information.

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping

The most popular slim ecigs (I recommend manual batteries for all)

Joye 510 (180mah) and Joye 510 mega xl (280mah) and it comes as a 3-piece but I recommend using it with Boge cartomizers for your favorite thin juices (I use juices with 20% or less VG). Most people prefer cartomizers to using atomizer + cart. On a manual you can also use atomizer + drip tip to test juices. You can get black batteries that usually have a blue LED and the Boge cartomizer. You may be able to find black with red LED if you search around. Boge cartos are usually black but NiteLiteVapor.us also has tan and white. Slim 510 uses the standard resistance cartomizers (around 3 ohms).

KR808D-1 (the manufacturer model with the gold button, or Vapor4life models - 180mah for the shorty and 280mah for the standard which is 120mm w/ a carto. manuals are mostly sealed and the button is standard size). Or the other style from SmokelessImage or Bloogplanet or Halocig G6 which are 220 or 320 mah the latter being 120mm long with a carto (rubberized finish at least on the SmokelessImage Volt, manuals are totally sealed and the button is tiny and partially recessed). These are 2-piece so there are plenty of prefilled cartos. To test juices on a manual you can use a DSE901 standard resistance atomizer and a drip tip.

The KR808D-1 is a true 3.7v device - higher voltage than 510 and generally gives a stronger dryer hit. The 510 to me gives a moister easier hit. I recommend manuals - easier to get a good hit, much harder to damage with juice leaks, especially carto leaks which would occur right over where an auto battery can be damaged. Even a small amount of juice inside an auto battery can damage or kill it.

Re that small Apollo - only buy it if you are willing to get all of your supplies from them. No idea what it is. Someone said they were told it is not compatible with anything.

You can't go wrong with Halo's products. They have a very reasonable starter kit that includes 2 Jet Black Batteries, 1 Wall Charger, 1 USB Adapter, 2 Blank Cartomizers, 5 Prefilled Cartomizers, 1 Storage Tin and 1 Cartomizer Carrying Case.

Battery comes in 2 sizes: 78mm and 65mm. It is my opinion that the 65mm size battery really looks like a cigarette when attached to a cartomizer. Check it out: G6 Basic Starter Kit - G6 E-Cig

They have a coupon for 10% off your purchase: ECFTEN

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

The recommendations of a Screwdriver or Riva are good ones. I think a better option is the E-Power, because the batteries last longer and cost significantly less ($4 instead of $20 for the Riva batteries). You should be able to get about 5 hours on a charge instead of an hour or less on the cig look-a-like models. Here are two well supported suppliers:

These batteries last an hour on a charge for an average vapor and you CANNOT use low resistence atomizers or dual coil cartomizers with them because the batteries are too weak. Quite limiting.

I picked up a Volt from smokeless image last Friday. I am already off the analogs. It's my first pv, but I really dig it. Pay the extra 2 bucks and get the bigger batteries, you won't regret it. I'd stick with manual batts, as I think they hit better and are harder to ruin. You also may want to order an extra. My kit came with two, but I now have three, so there is always a spare. Good luck!

My experiences with the manual Volt batteries have been to the contrary. Its actually easier for me to get a good hit with the auto, the manual does not work with V4L's cool carts, and if one is careful with refilling his cartos, he won't wreck his battery. Aside from that, the Volt allowed me to quit day one. As well, two batteries last me all day. I tend to go through anywhere from 4 to 6 refills a day, depending on how busy I am. Heed well this website, and good luck!

I bought a Riva but agree with other members who have found that the smaller the battery, the lower the level of satisfaction with the PV. Riva is a decent product and I enjoyed it, but some of the mods really help to get the vape that you need without constantly charging and fussing with the juice. My fav. right now is a Reo Mini but everyone has their preferences.

Just had to put my $.02 in (that's all I have left after purchasing the mods) Good Luck with whatever you choose to buy!
