EDIT: here's what they will look like, but the washer will get pressed in a bit, obviously my version of the ugly stick, props to the ugly stick.

just had to share ahead of being completely done, I've thought about how to do it for so long it feels like they're already done. I'm so proud of my clickie (whittled plastic to allow bent back tab clearance as switch is press fit into tail). looks dorky from the bottom, but function over form. (I'm electronics challenged for some reason)

gonna solder the connectors to the bottom of the washers

i look like such a tweaker filing the edges of the washers crouched on my garage floor, or perhaps like Gollum prying open a shell-fish ("what say, My Precious?")...I need to get my isht together in the garage, man.

Uses the idea for the poss connector from the, "Gummy strikes again," mod, so, no wires at all. Thank you, Gummy!

got them soldered and one pressed in, vaping on it right now.
each is 3.5" tall by 1" wide
forgot to fill the bat conn holes
much lighter than my 4*AA mega-Puck...

can't change atty without pulling bat or center pin pops out, but not bad considering no wires or spring. stuck using this one size (length) of battery however.

close enough for government work, sister should be happy it's lighter and smaller than the 4 AA Pucks i sent before.

each unit cost:
$1.75 flashlight (HomDep 8 @ $13)
$0.99 bat connector (good profits)
$0.10 washer
$2.99 switch (radio shack)
$0.25 finish washer
=====
$6.08
plus an incredible amount of personal time, but if given the same lights the next batch would be quicker.
