Hi! My name is Josh and I've been reading ECF for years.

I quit a 45-yr smoking habit abruptly with vaping, and had my last drag on July 19, 2013.

I've gotten a huge amount of helpful information from these pages, and although I swore off anything resembling social media a long time ago, the accelerated attacks on THR have convinced me that I need to get involved.

If I survive my diving back into this form of online communication, I will probably participate most in the forums and threads concerning the politics and media portrayal.

Thank you to the many here who have been so helpful to me by sharing their comments publicly, and for all the advocacy on behalf of vaping.

Josh

Thanks, Robino. I know more voices are needed, so at the very least I'm adding one more, but my skills for this kind of fight have some limitations. For now I'll just try to follow the examples of some of the posters here who seem to me to be very effective.

Welcome, Josh! Congratulations on being smoke free for 18 months :toast:

Thank you for joining in to help us fight the good fight. We need all of the help that we can get.

Thanks, salemgold. I'd like to sign up for twitter, too, but I'd better first see how I handle posting here for a while.
By my calculations, yesterday marked 21 months free.

I smoked for analogs for 35 years moreso when i went overseas while in the Army. The amount of cigs never decreased when i returned home.10 days ago I suffered a heart attack and I honestly believe if i had started vaping a few years ago that heart attack wouldn't have happened.

I'm glad you are getting involved in the politics it's obvious vaping is very useful tool for many that want quit smoking analog cigs!

So sorry to hear about your heart. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I hear you about how vaping might've saved you from the heart attack. About four years before I started vaping, I was looking into it, but was not able to fully convince myself that the health "authorities" that I already mistrusted weren't being truthful. I didn't trust the alarms being sounded, but I couldn't be sure.

If I thought I could be of much help with technical issues, and gear advice, etc., I'd set my sights on doing that, too. I will try to contribute a bit of it, but I am much more likely to find help here than give it.

Thanks for your message, johnson.
