Busy news day, in part because the release of the US CDC's Int'l tobacco Control Evaluation Project study generated an Associated Press story which I've found syndicated "as is" or in "knockoff" form in at least five places world-wide - and I'm sure we'll see more to come. Gary Cox in ECF's own InfoZone congratulates Mt. Prospect IL for being the first US jurisdiction to explictly treat vaping as different from analog smoking.
Critical: CASAA local alert in Paris TX; Adams MA to ban vaping in public parks; possible UK ban on tobacco smoking in cars w/ minors in them (will it be extended to vaping?).
Coverage: India, UK, US states: NY, PA, IN, CO, CA [+ AP story "knockoffs" in UAE and NZ]

CASAA: Local Alert! Paris, Texas, E-Cigarette Usage Ban [CASAA alert on Paris TX proposed PV usage ban]
CASAA: Call to Action! SUPPORT Wisconsin SB 440 EXEMPTING E-cigarettes from public use bans! [CASAA call on WI SB440 which would exempt vaping from WI's Clean Indoor Air Act]
Also see: Adams MA US story below - vaping to be banned in public parks.

(ECF's own InfoZone) Bravo Mt. Prospect - ECF InfoZone [Gary Cox lauds Mt. Prospect IL US, a Chicago suburb, for being the first jurisdiction in the US to explicitly recognize vaping as something other than smoking tobacco. Vapers are also working in two other states, UT (see yesterday's post about Davis Co.) as well as in Alabama (statewide legislation); also see above CASAA alert on WI SB440]

(Int'ly-syndicated AP story variation #1) gulfnews.com/news/world/usa/experts-increasingly-contemplate-end-of-smoking-1
.1288723 [I chose another link to this AP story, since a different link to another outlet has already been already been posted in Media. You will see this headline "Experts Increasingly Contemplate End of Smoking" in many places, since the story is syndicated by the Assoc'd Press. (What you see here is the int'l version, customized for the UAE, which converts USD into Dirhams.) Since the story has been put out by a reputable wire service, it contains essentially no junk. It's surprisingly pro-vaping to the extent that it argues that PVs can help to minimize analog smoking rates in a way that no other alternative can.
