1st tank, what is wrong?

Hello All, i just received my first tank yesterday filled it up yesterday and let sit till this morning. I got a couple good pulls on it then I start to get that carto taste and I have to take a couple dry puff to get enough juice in it, so I do not get that taste. That carto taste totally ruins my vaping (I can not stand that taste) and if I have to warry about getting that hit. I can not use this. Am I doing something wrong with this tank system? The carto in the tank has 3 holes and is 1.5 ohms on a KGO.

I have been using a clearomizer/stardust carto that last couple weeks and never had that issue with the bad flavor.

I like to take long hard draws filling my mouth full of vapor and then inhaling it feeling it go down my throat. Is there anything I can do to make a tank work and not go dry with the way I vape or do i stick with the clearo types?

Did you fill the carto before putting it in the tank?

I know that you said it was 1.5 carto but is it dual coil or single coil. Also maybe the holes are not big enough. Did you punch them yourself or were they bought with the holes?

Priming from the top of the carto on initial fill is very important. Some cartos really need to be wet initially to get things to wick properly.

Also, how many holes in the carto? I tend to use two, 180 degrees apart. Particularly with thicker eliquids one smallish hole won't work so well.

I use a 3.7 PV with 60/ 40 PG/ VG in Smoktech 1.7 XL single coil cartos. The one hole I punch is 2.5 mm.

With most vapers using the Kgo the preferred carto used is the ST 1.7 single coil.

I know that a lot of people love the dual coil carto's, but I dont. I never think they taste correct. Tried a few different makes and ohm's and stick to the single coils in a tank. That is what works for me.

Personally I use Ikenvape 801 fusions. You need an adapter with them, but they are just excellent cartos. Dense filler, they do need the initial priming, then they provide a really good vape.

Another question for you all? If i didn't prime it first and possibly burned the carto, will it always have that burnt taste? I'm starting to think that is what happened. I took that first hit and i don't think it was totally saturated and now i know it is but i still get that burnt carto taste.

Toss it. Unfortunate, but once a carto starts bad it tends to stay that way.

You absolutely need to prime all new cartos, with or without a tank.

Dang it. I will toss that one and try again tonight with another one other one that I have and use the needle to prime the carto this time. Should 3 holes be suffecient to keep the carto wet ot should i punch them bigger? When I get the chance I do tend to hot box them a bit, drag then 20 seconds and drag again. I can do that 5 or 6 times before taking a longer break. I really want the tank to work as well or better than the clearo I am currently using, so I don't have to refill so much I really hate that birnt taste though, so if I get it again I may have to give up on the tanks for awhile and maybe get a vi vi nova and try that.

I knew i needed to prime the carto without a tank, i for some reason thought that on a tank it would just wick in from the holes. I think i assumed wrong on this. I will prime them from now on no matter what.

That's prolly what the prob is unless you're using very thick juice.

when i put a new carto in a tank, i put it in dry. fill the tank. drop about 8 drops on the top of the carto filler to get it wet. wait about 5 minutes and vape. That is what works for me.

I put 1ml in my cartos befor I put them in my tank, never had a problem, well you will get a bad carto now and then.. I run SC 1.7 ohm 1 hole XL cartos on my KGO and they work very well. can't use the 3 hole ones, they flood out every time on me, 70/30 or 60/40 works well for me thats all..

Thanks for everyones help on this. It sounds like my issue is not priming the carto. I am actually relieved, because I got 2 tanks last night in the vape mail and was really excited about it until I tasted the burnt carto this morning. Not filling the cart is dumb noob thing to do and will never do that again.

I will be going home tongiht and filling my cart with a needle and then filling the tank and see how that tastes. Then I will be ordering some single coil XL's from somewhere. I have my fingers crossed that it tastes good and that it last until i receive the new carto's.
