Just got my first kit yesterday, a Volt; charged her up and tried it this AM; beautiful kick on the first drag! However, I did not get any taste except for a sick, nauseating "burnt plastic" feeling on my soft palate that did not improve after vaping for 5 min or so, even tried 2 other carts, is that what e-cigs are about? the smell was horrendous, the taste worse; had to drink some coffee and smoke 2 analogs along with some mints to get that taste/smell out. Am I missing something? What happened? I'm not trying to be a party pooper, just trying to learn.....

sounds very much a dry burn agrees with NGIB ...if you dont know you dont know you have to put a liquid in these things if you look on forum you will often see people refer to juice this is what turns to flavour and vapour
this site is a mine of info but if your new to it its quite easy to miss this type of thing

dont give up every one has experienced the dry burn if not the dry burn its the flood at the other end of the scale
keep going just make sure the carto (the thing you suck on /screw in ) is wet with juice dont let a minor hiccup put you off

keep asking questions theres no such thing as a silly question :)

I love my volt, although I had a similar experience with a few carts when I bought my first kit. I'm no doctor, nor to I play one on TV, but I think my issue was just a MAJOR aversion to certain flavors. I thought it may have been a problem with the carts, but in my few months of using these things and refilling blanks, I've realized that some liquids / flavors just don't suit me (and have that burnt plastic taste). If yours are filled, then you could be having the same problem.

Hello all!

I had the same experience when I first started to fill/refill my cartos. I even lost all hope in a whole chain of eliquid that I thought was a good choice. Now shopping around and reading way to much I have found that certain flavor suit certain people better. I love the JY4 from rawr vapor so I thought I would like that almost buttery taste and ordered mrs. T butter rum. sad to say I cannot handle it. I gave it to my buddy and he loves it.

Also, sorry to be long winded, even if you get blanks that are empty some times the manufacturer will place some liquid (vg maybe, or something else?) there to keep the filler moist. In my experience it is always good to blow that stuff out and if you are not going to use the atty right away keep them in just plain VG.

Were supposed to be pre-filled carts in a "sampler" pack; it's the craziest thing; each different flavors, but each with NO flavor whatsoever, except this burnt plastic; the smell out the cart end of the cig was nasty! Now, there is a little white insert in the "mouth" end of the cart; am I supposed to take that out? The instructions never said anything about removing this.

These were pre-filled carts, 24's; Desert Joe, 555, and Ry4. Good vapor, nice throat kick; but NO Flavor, just a sick, nasty burning plastic taste; I must be doing something wrong; or maybe just bad carts? I dunno; I can't imagine smokers are giving up analogs for this taste. I just opened the portable charger to get the carts out, and I can still smell that nasty smell!

But if the carts were dry; how would I get vapor? Lots of vapor, but NO taste/flavor whatsoever; just opened my portable charger to check the names of the carts and that acrid smell is still there, over 12 hours later!

You've reached the 5 post level now ... I would suggestion posting over in SI's section of the forum now. Don't know if anyone from the company is around this late, but there are plenty of users there that might reply.

IMAGINE is the person who runs the subforum and smokeless image. She is usually on very late. If fact, I just saw her make a post. To to the ASK IMAGINE thread in the stickies.

Smokeless image has the best customer service in the industry, they will take care of it, I'm sure

Their reputation is in fact why I'm sending one of my coworkers to them to make the switch. Love her to death, but she needs something basically plug and play.

OP will get the problem sorted out soon I am sure.
