Wife and I started vaping almost a year ago (1-Apr 2013). Started with Ego's and then we both went to VV/VW Mod (Tesla) which has been working quite well. I've been rebuilding PT2 tanks and vapor and flavor has worked for us. Using the PT2 because of the glass tanks which keeps me from guessing if a juice will crack the tank. Had 1 Tesla stop working, wife reordered from FT ...while waiting I gave her mine and I went back to the ego for a couple days but splurged and bought a VTR b/c the damn ego died (wouldn't hold a charge). Needed something as we were down to only 1 mod. So, now.............we have VTR, 1 older Tesla (acting as our only backup) and the new Tesla. Thinking of ordering a MVP 2.0 as a secondary backup.

Been reading that RBA's (or are they called RTA'a , rebuildable tanks atty's) such as the Kayfun work better than the PT's. Is this true? I'm not worried about building coils...so started shopping around and I wont pay that price for an original Kayfun or Russian. Also read the Hcigar 3.1 clone is a really good option and at $40+ is reasonable. I found a Kayfun 3.1ES for $15.52 at FT. Are there differences? Do these come with glass tanks or can glass be purchased? Also read the FT version doesn't have the 510 drip tip adapter but suspect that could be purchased separately as well. Any other viable options to consider??

Outside of moving into RBA/RTA's .... I entertained briefly an RDA. But I just can't see myself carrying around bottles for dripping and cant see this as a safe option while driving. So, started reading about the REO with. I find this an interesting alternative. Any good or bad thoughts about this?

Thanks for any/all suggestions and input.

Congrats on your upcoming 1 year :D

Reading your post and your wants (and my own admitted bias) I would definitely suggest Reo for at least serious consideration. That is the route I went for my and fiance's 6 month vape annys and it is the smartest thing I ever did *for our needs*.

If Reo suits what you want and/or need, then there is not a more solid and fiddle free option. I fill bottle, build and wick coil in RM2 (also using unsealed 510/306 atties like kidneypuncher are great if you are not wanting to rebuild) I carry a spare 6ml bottle in a case with a spare 18650 and Im good for a day (or two) I do not have to fiddle any more. LOL.

Visit Reos Mods and visit any other forums for APVs or Rebuildable atties and get a general idea of the good, the bad and the ugly directly from the owners :)

Thanks, Is it easy to change flavors on the REO? Do you get any flavor bleed between bottles or do you rinse and dry before the swap? Do you use the same RM2/wick combo ...or rewick ...or carry a separate RM2? Would you recommend the Grand or VV ??

As I don't vape one flavor all day, I need something relatively easy to make changes. Now, I swap between 2-3 PTs a day depending on my mood. Because of this, I also brought up new tank systems in my original thread....just looking to up the flavor profile, not particularly looking to be a cloud chaser.

Another Reo user chiming in over here.:D

The Reo is a bullet proof mod/system. I've been using pretty much nothing but Reos going on 6 months now.

Soon after trying RDA's (dripping), I quickly grew to appreciate nothing but the vaping experience and versatility RDA's offer. There is a clear and advantageous difference between them and clearomizers/carto-tanks/RTA's. Manually wetting your coils eliminates being at the mercy of an auto-feeding/wicking tank system, resulting in no dry hits, gurgling, or leaking. The open decks and airflow offer vast possibilities for trying out different coil builds and positioning, which will change the vape quite a lot. Finally, nothing beats fresh juice directly applied to a coil...

Constantly having to drip is indeed a hassle anywhere else other than your living room couch. The Reo solves this. I wouldn't really look at it as just a mod, but more like buying a topper in a sense as well. It's dripping without having to drip. Drive and vape your Reo all day long.

Switching flavors is easy. Swap out bottles. You could blow through the tube and switch wicks if your switching between two drastically different flavors. Can be done in under 2 minutes easy.

Congrats on the vaperversary, I too will be at 1 year this April 1st. :vapor:

Funk Dracula covered swapping flavors - I will add that I carry a spare bottle or 2 of other favorite flavors besides my ADV and I either swap the bottle or just direct drip on my rm2 if I only want a few puffs of something different. I dont rewick - any flavor ghosting (bleed over) on my preferred flavors is minimal and complimentary (and passes in a few vapes) I do have one flavor that is very different and pretty strong, if I use that one I use the method funk dracula explained - I take off the bottle and blow to empty the feed tube, I also rewick for that one. So, its a small endeavor for a very difficult flavor - all in all - about 3 minutes to remove bottle, blow, screw in new bottle, rewick - GO in those rare cases.

ETA - I use a Grand and a Mini, I dont see any point in the VV. Even with VV devices I had a sweet spot - just left it on the same setting. I build my coils to suit my sweet spot so a Grand suited what I needed. If you use VV a lot as opposed to just on one setting like I did you may be better suited by the VV :)

Dripping really isn't a hassle, especially with the RDA's that can hold 20-40 drops.

It's not really dripping at that point.

I have an Origen dripper that can hold a good 1.5ml of e-liquid in it's wells, but I don't use it that way. I still end up dripping fresh e-liquid right on the coils, leaving the wells pretty much empty as over-dripping collection cups. And I still only treat myself to the Origen when my .... is parked on the couch at home watching movies or something.

RDA's holding 20-40 drops of liquid in the wells are basically tanks without containment; they need to be kept up-right or you'll spill juice everywhere worse than a genesis style tank would.

Also, if your soaking mass amounts of cotton/wick shoved all around the deck with e-liquid being heat drawn to the coil, it cooks the juice and messes with the airflow and flavor big time. A chamber over-stuffed with cotton can taste like a wet sock to me.

IMO, the cleanest and purest flavor clearly comes from fresh e-liquid applied directly to a minimally wicked coil; giving you only a few tokes at a time at best.

There's no getting around either not being a lazy dripper, or setting yourself up with a bottom feeding system; that is unless your happy to settle for a vape sub-par to what an RDA's performance can be.

My Storm never leaks and I don't over-stuff it with cotton. I spin the airflow. Unless I tip it upside down there's no where for it to leak. I don't consider myself a lazy dripper, but I'm not also as .... about flavor I guess. If I put 20 drops in the deck, the flavor difference is negligible.
