This is great advice. I'm new to the forum, but I've been vaping for a while. About two years ago when I didn't know much, I got a 510 (don't remember where) and a few juices. I didn't last too long before I went back to analogs. In retrospect, I should have done more research, and this forum is a great place for that.

I got back into vaping for the past month, and switching to a Volt KR808 and not being afraid to experiment with different juices has made a world of difference. Don't be afraid to buy samples of juices.

I agree with VintageMitzi, use what you have for now and keep researching. You'll find models that will meet your needs.
That's really the key point, and what every would-be vaper needs to know...

There are issues that are specific to each person, but there are solutions for every issue.
And if there is ANY issue that doesn't have a solution, there are incredibly talented people already working on it.
:)

So determine your particular issue or issues, and post them here.
And you'll get suggestions for how to overcome them.

There is almost no excuse left for anyone that really wants to switch to vaping.
Because all of the main issues have been solved, and often their are multiple solutions to fit almost any need.

I am actually not discouraged in the least. I am enjoying what I have so far, but curious of what I could have. (or interchangeable parts that could make what I have better)

The moment the box arrived, the old analogs started growing dust. That is a freaking miracle.

If it is working and you are happy with it that is what counts! Looks like it might be 510 threading judging from your picture, their site doesn't really say. Since others pointed out the rebilling they do and you mention a card with insufficient funds to recharge that issue is covered LOL

I started out with starter kit similar, 2 days later I had myself and ego-t but that ended up happening because there is a vapor shop 6 blocks away from me I never knew existed until the cleark at walgreens told me about them. Glad you found this site to help you on your journey!

Just purchased a random starter kit 2 days ago.

Then I realized how huge and diverse the e-cig market is.

Would anyone be able to determine what model I actually purchased?

I am curious because now that I impulsively bought one.. I'd like have a clue what it is. When reading the different Newbie guides, it would be useful to know which category mine falls into.

ECigsBrand.com seems to make a point to divulge zero spec info on their e-cig...
Pic included to help someone help me. Thanks.

Stefanozz, I purchased the same brand also. They have absolutely no info on their website about their cigs or bats. I called up to find out what the model # and battery strength was and the rep either did not know or would not tell me. I also cancelled my enrollment in their plan. They offered me 10 of their $79.00 carts for $19.95 as a one time deal. The rep said he would email me the info I asked for but never did. Hope you have better luck with them than I did.

We call these kits "intro to vaping kits", cause all they do is open up the word of vaping to people who then come here and realize how much money they can save by switching to a real e-cig. So while none of us agree to the rip-offs that they are, we do like how many people they convert with their advertising that rest of the vaping world can't really do.

Update on Ecigsbrand.com: When you cancel the membership that starts from ordering the starter kit, they force a 19.95 charge on your credit card for the starter kit they sent. Luckily for me, I used a re-fillable debit card with them and drained it before they could.

Definitely a bad idea to try them, but at least they only got 4.95.

It could be a proprietary thread in which case you can't use anything else with them. I started off like that and it kept me off smoking. Now I use Volts from Smokeless Image which are much more cost effective and have some good tasting flavours. And they can be used with other 808 stuff or 501s with an adapter.

I was able to pop the top off of 1 of the 7 cartomizers they sent and add juice. It works well and bumped the nic content up from measly 10 mg to 24 mg. Looks like I will be able to get some good use out of what they sent me until get a better setup.

Volt is one I was temped to get, but I think I am leaning towards an eGo kit now. I have 7 free cartomizers to burn through while I decide. :)

I also spent $4.95 for the eCig Brand starter kit. I haven't had a cigarette for 2 days (after smoking for 41 years). I've previously tried to quit with, obviously, no success. I think the part for me that works is being able to manipulate the "cigarette" in my hands compared to either gum, patch, or chantrex.

Another habit that I can continue: I've smoked in the garage for quite a while. I have a nice comfortable chair, magazine rack, and other amenities in my "cigarette smoking cave." I think that's helped -- weird.

Coincidentally, I had a doctor's appointment a week ago and discussed e-cigs to him. He was all for quitting no matter the mechanism used, including hypnosis.

Anyhow, is the 510 threading verified for the eCig Brands battery/holder? If so, does anyone have a web address to purchase reasonably priced refills?

Per the contract to purchase the starter kit, I have to buy at least one box of refills for $80.00 (an $85.00 total investment on my health). I'm OK with that. However, I will stop the subscription after the next box is shipped to me to fulfill my obligation or after the special price for refills previously mentioned in this thread.

I'll also look for another 510 starter kit. Suggestions?

Thanks.
