Tomorrow will be 2 months of vaping for me and I now have to quit for 2-4 days to see if a throat issue will clear up. I vape 20/80 vg at 3mg juice on various tanks with coils best between 30 watts up to 50ish.

I have tried everything from clear nic juice and even took it up to 90/10 with no change. I have been on 2 rounds of abx for dental work that is on going so I know it isn't strep throat or anything contagious.

I want to ask if you think this idea might work, by using clear nic juice to rub on my skin sort of like a patch.

What mg would you think would work maybe 12 mg? I have 48 mg that I can dilute down to something that might work like the patches do.

I cannot take lozenges or anything you consume to quit due to the fact they would have to be free of too many things I can't consume. I'd rather be rubbing nic juice on me or can we put it on our tongue?

You can certainly try those things and good luck, but for me I am fairly sure that I need the hand to mouth action. And not because I've been doing this for awhile, fairly sure it's always been that way. Best of luck and we'll still be here to help after you get back.

I'd say a drop on the tongue would probably be easier than a bandaid/ejuice nicotine patch, honestly. I'd start with your regular nic strength, and one drop, until you start figuring out absorption rates with that.

I vaped through my nose down my throat and exhaled out (again through my nose) to avoid the suction issue or vape in my mouth when I've had oral surgery, but I hear this is considered Extreme Vaping (I did use a MTL setup and a resin driptip, to avoid any heat issues, and my nose got a bit dry (used saline spray) but nothing tragic happened and I'm here to tell the tale.

I do understand this solution isn't for everyone, it worked great for me though and I'm alive, can smell, and everything. LOL. I preferred it to my other options as I HATE the patch, with grave passion, so I tried something a little odder.

It's really easy though! More so than it sounds!

At this point on my vaping journey I am not convinced that it is the nicotine that I need. I think it is the hand to mouth action I am dependent on. That and having something in my hand. It seems like I vape constantly but at the end of the day I find that I've only vaped a ml or two of e-liquid. You may need something to fiddle with while you take a break from vaping just to keep the hand to mouth dependence at bay.

The throat problems my be caused by the way you vape. I found that I don't need to draw the vapor down my throat. I do what I call mouth through nose. I pull the vapor into my mouth, hold it there for a second or so and then let it out through nose and mouth. A tiny bit does occasionally get in my throat but I consciously try to prevent it. I decided early on in my vaping career to give my lungs a break and since the nic can be absorbed through mouth and nose there was no reason for me to involve my lungs in the activity.

There is no right way for everyone. The right way for you is whatever works. I just wanted to share with you one more way that works for some of us.

Yep, and I'm right there with you, using your same method mattie! Always have done it that way for the nearly 4 years I've been vaping now. I go through about 10mL each day (chain vaper here), and I have no problem at all getting my "nic fix" that way, nor the hand-to-mouth habit action satisfied.

I also am not sure how addictive nicotine is. I certainly don't get the cravings when I don't vape that I used to get when I smoked. Seems about the same as caffeine to me now, I like my coffee and I like vaping but can hold off if need be.

I'd love to say I could go days and days, but so far I'm happy to be able to go hours and hours. It all kind of depends on how busy and distracted I am.

BTW, bleach? I always used to hate it b/c it made my cigs taste awful.... I happily use it now with Grave Passion, LOL, and this morning I walked past the husband smoking a cigarette after bleaching the entire bathroom and it smelled JUST like a burnt coil. EXACT match. I thought it was interesting. I should carry around a little bleach bottle to deal with any cig cravings, LOL.

I could use it like smelling salts, because there is NO way I'd fall off the vaping wagon if I did *that* (not that it's been a huge issue, but I do have an upcoming appointment to get my lower implants exposed, and the Oral Surgeon is going to slice into my lump..... It has re-swelled up with a vengeance since stopping abx and my face is visibly deformed now. :( It's like some giant GOITER or something.....I'm still not convinced it's nothing, it's just so WEIRD, so maybe I will bring a teeny tiny bottle with me to that appointment.... Just in case....) Oh who am I kidding. If it's something serious, I guess I'll see what happens and go from there. I might smoke a cigarette out of disgusted dismay, or I might hang tough. Kind of hard to predict.....

Like all substances, addictive properties will vary by the individual. I know I've been vaping for almost 2 years, and while the hand to mouth thing is there, take away my nic for several hours and you will experience one unhappy camper.

Oh boy is about all I can say and your thoughts I have done and I took it as far as trying to smoke real cigs last week. Every time I tried all I did was gag and say "I can't do this". I tried 3 times and gave up. It is so awful this time trying to MAKE myself go back.

What I did was I had to find out if this stuff in my throat "white puss pockets" is burns caused from vaping. I have done DL that didn't last long, I did MTL and I did the keep it in the mouth out the nose thing. NOTHING helped.

For some reason It felt like burns. So prior to the dr appointment I decided if I can't go back to the real thing, I am going to tough this out. That was not going like I wanted so I slapped on a patch and that helped SOME.

I had the appointment and the doc thinks it is a cyst that may need to be drained. Now I was only 2 days off vaping at that point and it was becoming bearable so I continued. I can find out more than running around from this dr. to that dr. if I just slow down and see what this thing does. PAIN is gone! The bubble thing is shrinking

I have decided after all the BS I have been through that I am going to continue the patch route and off. The thoughts of letting this heal up and go back to vaping are there believe me. But I think at this point I am hanging on to everything and will see if something pops up I can always pull it back out.

Too bad I have like 1/2 gallon of frozen nic juice and a ton of flavors. I think the flavors last a year. I have 5-6 favorite recipes perfected and several tanks. Heck I have hand made drip tips waiting for me to pick up at the vape shop. I have to go get them yet.

I am going to remain ready to return to vaping. One thing I figured out trying to force myself back into smoking was the real things hurt worse than vaping. That was when I decided to just lay it all down and see what happens.

I'll keep coming by and become a lurker dreaming of a successful life of vaping! It's been my goal for years and every dang time something happens.

Nicotine IS addictive. A can go for hours without vaping. But then.. I do crave. I have nic free juice. I have tried it after some abstinence. Not good. Not good at all. I do need my nicotine. My research tells me once and again: nicotine is addictive.
Not only the nicotine! What I found equally as bad was the loss of holding my nice little pico. OMG I got addicted to holding it, the feel of that in my hand. I think I only had it 30 days and it was instantly my favorite of all. It is still sitting out and if I pick it up to move it the FEEL comes back. That didn't come from cigarettes! What the heck is it?

I'm sorry to hear about this, but you should do what is safest health-wise. Does your doctor think the two are connected? It would have to be extraordinarily WARM to do damage to your throat, I'd think. I hope you are able to return to vaping at SOME point.

I did not tell him I was vaping. I struggled with it and decided the majority of them would instantly jump to the conclusion and pass the buck off on vaping. If I am wasting my traveling expenses and money on this dr. he is going to use his own brain and narrow it down. He didn't care. He did what typical doctors do, pass you on to the next one. Now I need to see another ENT. Luckily he did have the "C" expertise upon examination and didn't use that word. Is it ruled out? No, not until I go see who ever is next and the next.

That is when I decided to let's just stop and wait and see what this does. What I do know is right when I got ready to vape and the dentist and doc put me on some nasty abx the next morning I woke up with the worst sore throat of my life and it was the ABX and it stayed the whole time I was on them until they let me off them. Then I picked up vaping and the sore throat was not all the way gone. I have sworn all along this is abx caused. They of course are telling me it is not.

Hopefully it is a cyst that will settle back down, return to a tiny pink thing and I can CAREFULLY some how vape after patches when that time comes. You know Hubby smokes and they are right here and one day I'll get ticked off enough to try it again. But after last week I doubt I can do it, I'd go into vaping instead.

I have about 8 bottles of 60 ml recipes steeping. I figure they might be good a year and I'll just leave them alone ready to go for that moment.

When I quit smoking and went to vaping, I had no intention of ever stopping vaping and now I have no intention of saying "I won't ever".

My daughter had to stop vaping due to nasty tonsil stones and pus pockets that would develop in her tonsils. Her throat is fine since she stopped. Luckily, she wasn't much of a smoker to begin with. If you do decide to try vaping again, I recommend sticking to a small MTL set up with not too much vapor and little heat.

OMG what you are describing is exactly what I think I have. I could see more developing. It is so painful too. I just don't believe in today's medical field being anything other than big pharma's puppets doing what they want. I put the breaks on to wait and see with this.

I do have a MTL set up with 3 tanks. I love the tanks they go to the Endura T22. Two of them I never opened up yet because the T22 vapes at 14 watts, is not adjustable and was just way too hot. I took the tank off and put it on the Pico and took it down to like 11 watts. It was a big flavor loss for me.

I would love to figure out how to being with those tanks on the little Pico (i want to get another one lol) but I think I will have time. I can't go back to vaping until this crap heals up.

The whiteness of the puss pocket thing is turning back to pink but it is holding size. I can see this is going to take a long time to heal but as long as there is no more pain, I am happy. I can remember last Thursday on date night with hubby trying to force myself to smoke all night. Today makes day 6 without anything going on the throat so I think it is doing well. You would not believe how sick it makes you feel, weak, tired just like a real bad flu and all through the throat. Once that went away then full energy came back too. It was awful and I feel bad for your daughter going through this.

My friend did that with regular cigarettes after he had his wisdom teeth removed. Of course that was 20+ years ago and ecigs didn't even exist back then.

I did that with cigs about 12 years ago when I had 24 teeth removed (it's a long boring story) but since I don't do pain meds, I was NOT about to stop smoking for a week, LOL, nor was I about to risk dry sockets. The husband rigged me up a nose smoking drill, that ran air though the cigarette, making it easier to "inhale" as it were. I did plenty of confused nasal smoking in the garage, LOL. (The confusion was due to the pain, etc.) It was kinda where I got the idea, but vapes are easier than cigarettes, (IMO) though I have to say when you have that many teeth removed, everything's a little hazy for a while.... I still am thinking that vaping is way easier.
