A 3 piece ecig has 3 separate parts - a battery, atomizer, and a cartridge
A 2 piece has 2 separate parts - a battery and a cartomizer (the cartridge and atomizer are combined as 1 piece.

Is that correct?

What's the advantage of a 3 piece or a 2 piece?
Is a 2 piece cartomizer better?

Does a 2 piece cost more?

Is the Joye 510 a 3 piece?
Is the KR808D a 2 piece?

Thanks

Is a 2 piece cartomizer better? That's a matter of opinion

Does a 2 piece cost more?NO/YES: They are cheaper but if you only use it for it's intended purpose use and trash then the 2pc would be more expensive. They can be refilled and with proper care become the cheaper alternative.

advantages of the 3 piece.. very versatile as far as uses... so you can be sure to find a technique or method that suites you

3pc like the 510 produce more vapor...so that is an advantage if that is what you are looking for

you can get them just about anywhere, but it seems the 2pc is catching on so more and more places carry

advantages of the 2pc enclosed and easy to just toss in the pocket. convenient and portable (mess free)

ease of use... can refill so it still could be cheaper than a 3pc.

i am sure I could list more... but I am trying to give factual information rather than opinionated.

Hope this helps

To expand on this... I can say this much... after 3 days of vaping - at home, at work, in car - with a 2-piece KR808d-1 starter kit (1 manual and 1 automatic battery, which I highly recommend for any beginner):

--You really need to start this whole process by asking yourself what your purpose is with vaping... are you just looking for something to replace cigs for you? Or, are you looking to start a new and interesting hobby?

--The 2-piece model is extremely convenient... I like the whole "grab and go," "Plug and Play" ease of use.

--Regardless of how many pieces it has, get a PCC for heaven sakes! 2 bats and 2 carts in my PCC get me through a 10-hour work shift, with no issues...

--And the Duck is correct! I've had no issues at all with messes... there are horror stories OnThisForum (oooo look... a new net abbrev. is born!) about drippy addies and nic juice running into the pie-hole and such... No problems there... and no wet pockets either... but be careful... I already put a nick in my manual bat with my keys!

--I think a 2-piece is easier to sell to noobs on the back deck at work... then again, I'm a heretiK, so conversion is ALWAYS on my mind...

In all, my vaping experience has been very positive... it's good for conversation too... sometimes I'm just too tired to entertain people my own damned self...

Layyyter...

Thanks - I have a few more questions?
Here they are:

I saw from a lot of reading today that the Joye 510 is very popular - but in my job - I can't be carrying around juice bottles to refill it - its not possible.

So thats why I might have to get the KR808D - it sounds like you don't have to carry liquid bottles to refill it during the day.

I'm trying the ecig device just to use instead of smoking analogs.
All I care about is just getting the nicotine.
I normally smoke about 10-12 regular flavor cigs a day.

So can you give me some kind of ballpark idea about the cost of a KR808D?

I need to buy a AC Charger for it. Can I just charge a battery once a day and it will last me a whole day?

Is 1 KR808D cartomizer equal to 1 pack of cigarettes?
What's the basic price of 1 cartomizer?
Will this be cheaper than buying regular cigarettes?

How long does 1 cartomizer last?
How long does 1 battery last?

After I buy the charger on my initial order, from then on, I only have to re-purchase batteries and cartomizers, correct?

Can you recommend a good quality dealer to buy the KR808D from?

How come none of these dealers have contact phone numbers on their websites? They only have email contact.

Thanks

Being a newbie as well, I liked the idea of the two piece design, don't have to worry about carying around an extra atomizer, juice and worry about loosing something.
No, you don't have to carry uice, just the cartomizers, which you can load up at home, or buy pre-filled. I've just started, but the standard battery is lasting me all day.
I agree, get the PCC, that's he route I chose, a PCC and two batteries. Charge up the PCC and you can charge a batery in your pocket as you go about life, it also holds two catomizers, it's prety handy.
I recomed www.vapor4life.com myself, I have been happy as an understatment with the service I have gotten from them. They have a sub-forum here with some very helpful folks. The only problem I have seen with them, is they are having a hard time keeping up with inventory, but I think sals have grown more than they anticipated.
Yes, I am biased, look around a while, do your own research, I had to do the same.
Welcome, and good luck!

Yeah, but you should probably have an extra cartomizer with you.

Probably not, which is why you need a PCC or to bring extra batteries with you.
But then we are starting to get back to what can you carry and what can you not carry.

Will this be cheaper than buying regular cigarettes?
Yes, and much cheaper if you refill yourself.

After I buy the charger on my initial order, from then on, I only have to re-purchase batteries and cartomizers, correct?
Yes, unless you buy juice so you can refill yourself.
Which pretty much everyone eventually does.

For convenience/portability purposes, the KR wins, hands down. But get a 510 for home use - you'd really be missing out going solely with cartomizers. I use both everyday (cartomizers outdoors, 510 indoors), and the KR's really my ghetto vape until I get home to my 510. Don't buy into the hype that cartomizers are 510 killers... using the exact same liquid, I always get a better vape off my 510. Plus you won't be able to use cartos at 5-6v, unless you really wanna burn the crap out of the filler.
