2 weeks/ 2 dead Titan batts?

The wife has 2 auto VTKD batts that are dead.
They started taking longer to charge at first 3-5hrs.
Next, the auto switches started acting up, did the table tap and they would fire, that got annoying.
Then they wouldn't want to charge unless I played with them a bit.
I've done the table tap, post pull and checked to make sure post holes are lined up.
After wrestling with them forever, I finally got them to charge. The light works, but no volts to the post, therefore no vapor.
The wife wasn't a happy camper, until I broke out a new KGO kit I was saving for her.
She called V4L and they are sending replacement batts, but if they to experience issues I will zip them open for a better look....lol.

Thanks EleanorR, so do I.

Skelley sir how was she refilling them?
She fills the cartos off the batt, she does it the right way; blows & drys.
The first one was giving us trouble before she started filling even.
The light works as normal on both batts now, just no volts to the post. I used a straw w/ a multi-meter to check.
Is it normal for a batt to take 5 hrs to charge? That seemed to be the beginning of the end.
I got 1 to work this morning, but it was on the charger for over 12hrs?

I had a few auto titans die on me, they were working off and on, sometimes they would hit sometimes not. I sent one to Morandir sir to play with and he got it going again. But I prefer the manuals anyway so once those were out I was done with the autos lol. All my titan manuals are working like a dream. I recommend the xl velvet titan manuals highly! But use cool carts with them, the wows burn a bit too hot for the manual titans. But the batts are so good that the cool carts hit as well as the wow carts imo.

Skelley sir by blows and dries take it she blows juice out the battery connection end? If so, that's where the problem is. If juice, even the slightest amount, gets inbetween the post and threading, and you charge it, gets heatted up, etc. you can short out the batt. The post will get no no voltage some cases but the light will still work on the end. juice and batts don't mix, you can kill any batt auto or manual, 510 or 808, list goes on with juice.

I agree Morandir, but I would be suprised if it was due to juice.
I may have over done it when I explained to her how critical it was to keep the connection clean.
She went out and bought extra Q-tips; cotton balls and dental picks.
She was very meticulous about checking; cleaning the cartos & batts before and during use.

Her new batt arrived today, I need to send the bad one back, but if something happens to this one I gotta zip it open to see :)
Her new cigar batt has a blue light and she loves it. When I first showed her a few e-cigs she insisted on red lights, go figure.
She also likes CE2's & CE4's that me and the boy use. So I just ordered her a new 'pink' KGO to use them on, but don't tell her...lol. Maybe that will help give the batts a break from the VaporQueen..... I created a monster

Q-tips huh? Sounds like you watched the video of a guy that has never cleaned a battery before in his life. Not his fault though...when your boss says get in front of the camera and fake it....you do it. As well, never jam a toothpick into the air intake holes (shakes head) since for starters they don't fit, but secondly you inadvertently plug the hole....use a sewing needle instead.

Here's how to properly clean batteries and passthroughs:

I clean mine about once a month as needed. :2cool:

I ordered 2 auto and 2 manual VTDS XL batts. The autos are very hard to get going the draw needed is insane, I've been using autos and manual batteries for ages now and these autos give me the hardest time. The manual batteries absolutely rock though, I love them, their automatic counterparts though sadly aren't even a meh.

Hey SD, the Q-tips are for the bottom of the cartos; the 'metal' dental picks were for removing the soft carto caps and since we had them handy, I checked the post hole alignment. The cotton balls were for the batts as it was a e-cig supply run.

Thanks for the link, but I'm good with electronics as I have a Associates Degree as a Electronic Technician from the U.S. Marine Corps. I repaired Ground & Air Radio/Radar Equipment at one point, so a batt and small circuit board seems like childs play.

No worries though, my buddy has a digital microscope camera, so if anything happens to another batt, I'll just zip it open to get a better look. I wanna see a few things anyways....it must be the tech in me :)

JRob, I've had this issue with some of the auto batteries, and not just Titans. I end up plugging one of the air intake holes on the battery (one of the three on the sides) and it does seem to help. I've used a broken-off toothpick, or even a tiny piece of tissue, using the tip of a pin or needle to kind of stuff it in.
