As the title says, 2 weeks tonight. :toast:

I am having a little trouble though. I have a 510 and the regular attys aren't working very well. I have cleaned them several times with PGA with little effect. I have 1 LR atty that is holding me for now. The problem I have with this kit is the battery life. I am changing batteries once an hour (fortunately I have 3 batts). What I would like is a larger battery system that doesn't feel like I'm holding a D cell maglite, that will last at lease 4-6 hours and uses 510 equipment that i don't have to drip or refill every 5 mins. Any suggestions:confused:

I bought the LR aty in addition to the kit. It is working really weel for me compared to the std attys. Why is using the LR atty a bad idea?

The LR's should be run on batts w/450 mah or high. The penstyles do not have enough capacity to run a LR and it will overdrain the batt and kill it. I am supprised if you are getting anymore than 15 mins of heavy vaping out of a standard 510 w/LR. Order upo the eGo batts and charger. The issue you have is you have tried and LR and now standards just won't cut it.

I bought an extra longer Mega battery for my 510 from BlueGrassVapor.com for $11 and I think I'm gonna buy another this week. My kit came witha shorty and one long Mega one. I now have 2 long mega ones and they last 4-5 hours of heavy vaping. My shorty battery only last 1.5 hours so I don't even use it:(

I'm on 2 weeks too today and my 2 regular attys are working like new that came with my kit. I'm squirting 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 distilled water through them every night before I go to bed with a pipette.

Maybe get a 510 Passthrough for vaping at the computer? And you can get a wall adapter and use your passtrhough in the living room if you are a few feet from an outlet. Someone here recommended this to me last week and Im gonna pick up these too:

MadVapes 5 Volt 510 Manual USB Passthrough
2 amp AC to USB Adapter, ideal for Passthroughs

Good luck and don't give up! Get the stuff you need to make this an easy transition for you!

Liberty-flights has Riva's on sale right now for $29.95. All the parts fit a 510, their shipping is $2.29, and the Riva batteries will last for hours and hours. That's a really good deal right now and would solve your problems with battery life. I got one on their last sale and it's a great pv. Here's their link: Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Congratulations!!

I'm at two weeks + one day myself. I bought the Joye EGO after many recommendations from the board. I could not be happier with it. Excellent battery life, it is not that much bigger than a 510. Add some mega EGO cartomizers and you will be set for hours of vaping without having to change/charge anything. I think this is one of the reasons it has been so easy for me to convert from smoking analogs, a simple system that I can carry around all day. HTH

Thanks for all the info! I was originally considering the ego, and hello 016. I have eliminated the hello 016 due to it not being a regulated battery (read on a different forum that if it is not regulated you will not get consistent performance, great after charge then you gradually lose performance until battery cuts out), is this correct? Does the Riva have a regualted battery, and will it accept all the 510 accessories? Any pros/cons between the ego and Riva greatly appreciated.

+1 on the advice above

eGo vs Riva... Some say better button on Riva... but that's opinion. Riva has about 100 more mah (miliamp-hours) eGo = 650, riva 750. That's for the standard batteries. Get the 900/1000 ones if you can, but check the specs for size/weight since you are concerned with that.

Congrats.

pugh1537 ... it isn't really necessary to wait.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am now 48 days and counting. :toast: I purchased the Riva on your recommendation and couldn't be happier. Tried an analog the other night, took 2 puffs, put it out (tasted awfull), and picked my Riva back up. Thanks again for the recommendation. :vapor:

Grats on your 2 weeks! Just hit 3 weeks here.

Re longer battery life, another option (I think, and which I believe would be longer but no fatter) would be using KR808D-1 batteries with an adapter for 510 attys.
KR808D-1 batteries:
shorty 180mah (same short life as 510 batteries)
normal length 280mah
extra long 380mah
