With the 510 XL batteries, I can get pretty close to 4 hours of fairly constant vaping. I have also found that most times when I think a battery has died that I can play with the knob that makes contact with the atomizer is kind of pushed down a bit and that I can bring it back up with a paper clip. I was ready to toss a few batteries, but after a little work, I was able to bring them back to life. I think it happens when I screw them down too tightly in the charger, and it depresses that knob (annode?)

Can you explain how exactly you did this? I have a battery that might have this problem.

By the way my 510 battery i got from LF lasted Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tues for me. Now using the second battery.

Y'all make me happy that my first PV is the Riva 510 from LF.

I have not yet recieved my Riva 510 in the mail and yet with everything I am reading I am already happy with it. Australia takes along time for anything. Would have bought locally except nicoine is considered a therapeutic product so a no go.

Only thing is; I bought mine from the UK Liberty site, the special edition with the slightly lower resistance atomisers for hopefully enough vapour and nicotine to get me through what is likely to be the toughest first week of transitioning.

I am going to need all the vapour I can get when this thing arrives as I do smoke just shy of a packet a day now...

I am in two minds about it. Happy that I get a new toy:2cool:, but concerned about having the willpower to put the smokes to one side.:(

Do a few things and you'll be fine. First remember you aren't quitting anything. You're switching. Second buy enough of everything that you don't run out. That includes extra batteries and chargers. Third every cigarette you don't smoke is a victory. Some people start vaping and never look back. I had a few cigarettes a day for 3 or four weeks. Was that bad? No, it was a heck of a lot better than 20. It got to where I wasn't enjoying those cigarettes as much and it wasn't hard to leave them behind after that.

I'll assume you meant compatible instead of comparable and suggest the eGo for longer battery between charges. You can still use your 510 atty on it. And now a whole host of other stuff - mega eGo attys/carts, eGo-t attys/tanks, LR attys, cartos, etc. etc. Suggest getting the eGo-t with the B type atty and tanks - larger capacity.

I can't address the special edition pv as I went with the carto set up and low resistance cartos which I like better than the regular.

On a personal level, I didn't expect to quit analogs right away. I was looking for something to help wean me away from them. I guess because I'm getting my nic fix, it was easy to make the switch. The analogs taste particularly nasty after some fine juice. I've been analog free since day 2 and I smoked 2 packs a day.

I wouldn't stress or beat myself up however it works out for you. Every analog you don't smoke is a victory. :) You will probably find, like a great number of us, the hardest part is finding the perfect juice. I understand that juices with a higher blend of vg helps with lots of vapor. Good luck! Let us know how it goes for you. :vapor:

Thanks MR,

Sounds like sage advice.

I am still waiting for the gear to arrive (Australia is isolated enough but where I live things take even longer!) so the tip about buying plenty in advance is plenty relavant for me.

I have 60mL of 18mg juice in this first order along with the SE starter pack so once it arrives I think (after reading this forum) enough for approx 15 days.

Within a few days of its arrival I think I will put in another order to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the encouragement cisme.

If you can do it after being a two packs a day smoker hopefully I can get through the transition as apart from smoking less than one pack I also smoke medium strength 8mg cigs. Australian packs are 25 to a pack though, so it is a pack and a bit in international language. I went with the 18mg rather than lighter as I understand it is not a one for one ratio; ecigs deliver less nicotine than analogues.

About the ejuice, as I say above I am starting with tobacco flavour but now in retrospect wish I had ordered a few more exotic flavours. I will be placing an order a few days after the package arrives and will include some more exotic flavours. Coconut seems to be a favourite around here so might get that in the bunch I try.

Tom, I also started with 18mg and have tried others with lower mg. I don't need to vape 18mg all day but, if I start the day with lower, at some point I find myself chain-vaping. Then I switch back up, I guess to satisfy that nic need. OTOH, vaping 24mg for more than 1/2 hour makes me light-headed.

As a newbie, I'm still all over the place when it comes to juice. I followed others' advice and ordered many sample packs. Crazy stuff, things I was pretty sure I wouldn't like, but, I just had to know. Peanut Butter! I laughed at myself when I ordered it but I LIKE it! Watermelon was another surprise for me since I'm not a fan of the fruit. Cola! Never thought I would like to vape that. I also put a 10ml bottle of one that is highly regarded in my case of emergency box, I did not care for it at all. So, I guess my recommendation is to invest in the smaller sample bottles - you might be surprised! Good luck to you! :)

Cola. That sounds good as it is a fairly artificial taste to begin with. I might order that next.

The missus just rang me to tell me the package has just arrived from the UK. I am at work now but seriously considering pulling a sickie so I can get home and have a go.

My wife has suggested that I should not invest so much hope in the idea as so many other things have failed to get me off the smokes, but as I said to her, better I invest as much hope as I can so I follow through with effort.

Anyway I will take your advice and order a spread of different ones next rather than investing in bulk quantities of what I think is best.

Cheers.

Tom
