The past 2 years I've averaged $13 a week for everything. This includes base, flavors(diy), tanks, mods, batteries, bottles etc. I smoked 2 packs a day, which is $100 a week(Maryland). A 2 year savings of $8654, that should be reason enough to give vaping a try. I've been vaping for 5 1/2 years but just started keeping track 2 years ago.

I think you can spend as much or as little as you like on vaping.

The first two years I spent an average of about $350.00 USD per year, that was literally for everything, storebought ejuice included.

The third year I spent about $2,100.00, the fourth, although I quit vaping in largest part (just vaping some zero nic a few puffs a couple times a week these days) I spent about 45 dollars or so.

For me that is a 4-1/2 year savings of $6,650.00 (cigarette prices are cheaper here..)

All that savings, and I have all kinds of mods and atomizers, rebuildable and other, a stock pile of nicotine in my freezer, flavorings, PG and VG etc.

Even if I vaped daily I'm set for spending very little for years..

So yeah, vaping is definitely worth it from the financial end.

Well, I know I have spent over $1500 in my first year of vaping. I went through my bank statements and tracked it.
Time has past since then and I have bought other stuff.
But, the last year I smoked tobacco I spent $72 a week. If I was still smoking I would now be paying $86 a week.
I can buy a good mod and tank each week for the cost of my tobacco habit.
Even if over the last year I spent $2000 I am still up about $2500 from smoking.
I do have a life time supply of, tanks, cotton, wire and 5yrs worth of nic. I do have quite a few mods and a large supply of drop in coils. Its going to be pretty hard to find vape things to spend money on going forward. I might have to buy a few more guitars ;)

Once you have good reliable setup, and a decent backup setup, and a couple sets of good batteries... your recurrent costs for replacement coils for your tanks and e-liquids should be minimal.

If you learn to DIY e-liquids, you can save even more money.

Learn to make your own wicks & coils for a rebuildable atomizer, and you can save even MORE money.

I'm at exactly 40% of smoking costs at just more than seven years, but I could be at 10% if I had tried even a little bit.

Technically though, I could not buy another thing and still vape for life, while if smoking I'd be buying more tomorrow. So I guess there's that.

The past 12 months have been a massive slow-down, with purchases very selective and few, and just for things we really wanted to get.

@Opinionated stated it perfectly with:
"I think you can spend as much or as little as you like on vaping. "

Yep, indeed. :thumb:

When I was still smoking back in 2010, I spent on average $360 a month on cigarettes. Now I go through 120ml of juice and about 5 cartomizers a month now. 120ml runs about $30 and 5 cartos are $7. So $37 a month compare to $360 is quite a savings. Yes, I'm still using those old fashioned XL Smoke Tek cartomizers with a 6ml DTC tank on an iStick Pico.

I guess someday, I'll have to switch to coils because the cartos are getting harder to find.

So this year was more expensive than I thought but still looks like I broke even. Bright side next year I won't be buying juice, wicks, may need little wire maybe. Other than a couple rtas I can't think of any gear I might want before next year's big sales. Pretty content all in all. Saved quite a bit last year so guess I'm still ahead.

It is dirt cheap for me to build and wick my own coils and make my own juice; I’ve saved tons of money doing so. Said money also buys a lot of gear I don’t necessarily need but want :D either way I’m still saving money than when I was smoking which was about $300.00 a month

At $12 a day/$84+ a week I can literally buy a new mod, new topper and new juices each month and not even flinch.

My other Shinyitis besides vaping is my motorcycle. Guess you just pick a battle each month on what to spend on. Just running out of places for new chrome on my big toy. Guess I'll just take it easy for awhile.
I try to buy vape mods and tops this time of year and maybe a few extra juices then my savings stacks up for the rest of the year. Works for me and gives room for another trip or two if I want. Which I always seem to want. ...:)

I didnt track all of my vaping expenses and especially in the beginning I spent quite a bit of money on a large Nic stash, batteries, charger, mods, tanks, wire, what have you.

I rebuild and DIY juice for over 4 years and I pretty much only regularly buy flavors, bottles and 10L canisters of PG/VG every couple of years. Last time I bought a tank/mod was in February and before that August 2017. My shinyitis seems to have vanished a long time ago. :)

My DIY juice runs me around 2,5€ per 100ml and thats calculated including the already purchased Nic Base. I´m fairly certain I´m already in the black and my future costs for vaping are minimal.
