It was somewhat expensive when I started vaping, but I didn't keep track since my primary concern was quitting analogs. I have recently started to track expenses - $80-120 per month. I was smoking about a carton a week of American Spirits - $85.00 per week. Even though I don't DIY I am still saving a lot of money.

Most of the money I spent on vape stuff in the last 4 years has been stockpiling in case of government interference. The total for that is probably under $1,000 total for a 20 year supply of mods, atomizers and nic. My DIY is 8 cents a day. Builds are too low cost to measure, pennies per week. I assume two years continuous service from a Pico mod and rda so that averages $25-30 a year for those. My vape isn't cheap, it's free.

If I was offered a magic pill that garranteed no health problems by smoking I would say, no thanks, I don't smoke, I vape. Then, if I was offered the magic pill and a free life time supply of my cigarette brand I would say, no thanks, my vape is free for practical purposes and it's a supperior experience. Cigarettes are obsolete.

I am in the same boat. My daily vaping cost is super cheap. The money goes to stock ups, but still half what I spent on cigs. At least I can justify that to my wife for the arrival of those monthly packages of mods and tanks that go to the shelf.

I would love to say I have saved via vaping but I don't think I have. To be fair, I used loose tobacco, tubes, and an injector machine. I also stocked, and stocked for life on nicotine. Etc.

I would love to say at SOME point my vaping costs will decrease and I will save money... But, I know me. Sigh.

Where I live, a pack of smokes is $13.50 each and I smoked 2 packs a day. That would cost me $9700 a year. I spent about $900 this year on vape equipment which amounts to a huge saving. I have been spending less and less each month on vape gear as my "shinie" problem seems to have been resolved. I make my own juice and use nothing but RTAs. Juice costs less than $3 a week so I think I am doing pretty well in the savings department!!

Governments take more of the money from cigarettes than the tobacco companies end up with. The people who benefit know who they are and if you look into it you'll see that they're the ones making the loudest noises. All that money we're saving is what they're really so upset about. It was obvious to me four years ago that the government wants to ban vaping while cigarettes remain for sale the same as always and lately that's the direction things are going.

If vaping products can't be sold in locations where children may enter then certainly exactly the same should apply to cigarettes. As long as the legal age to buy these products is 18 half way measures won't change anything. Bump the age to 21 and will be a lot harder for minors to find a buyer to front for them. In the mean time I wish ecigs had been around when I was a kid.

So true. Less than 2% of the settlement money goes to tobacco cessation. That's out of multiple billions. It is a great source of revenue.
It is a mystery to me also that the same shops that sell cigs and beer are entirely trustworthy on all of that, but not vaping products. I have a suspicion that all of those products are being resold at a profit to the under age group by the 18 plus year group.

I went crazy when I started vaping, spending shed loads on Mods and Tanks etc, and now fully DIY, And now hardly spend anything apart from the occasional bottle of VG/PG and flavours. I still put my smoking money in a jar; and enjoy seeing it fill up and having to increase the size of the jar, which apart from the obvious health benefits, the money jar gives me added incentive when I’m feeling a bit tottery.
