I don't have the XL drip tip, but I made my own by hollowing out a blank eGo mega cart. Works fine for me. I only do this when I am trying a new flavor and I don't want to fill up a cart w/ 2.5ml of juice, but so far dripping on the XL atty works fine. Just 3-4 drops and you get 10 drags. Not really understanding why it doesn't work for you. Do you get good vapor using the carts?

I guess everyone vapes a little different :). With the carts I hold the button for about 10-15 seconds while taking a pull and I get a good size cloud :vapor:. The cart ensures the atty is wet so I'm not worried about drying out or burning the atty (hate the burn taste). With the dripping I feel like I only get a couple of decent drags before I have to drip again. It is a warm tasting of flavors which is cool. Maybe it would work better with a higher VG because it doesnt seem to stay on the atty and pools more at the bottom (I use 80% PG - 20% VG).
That is what I'll use it for  just tasting new liquid and as a last resort.

+1 for dripping.

I'm a recent convert. Tried cartridge mods, got some to work flawlessly and others not so well. I got tired of not knowing if I was good for the day or would end up with leaked juice and poor wicking. With dripping I know there is nothing to worry about so I am currently in drip mode (also have some Joye cartomizers on order to try).

I started with a delrin tip, the standard style, it was ok but I noticed I needed a larger opening. I then purchased a chrome "shorty" tip with a larger mouth. The larger mouth was perfect and I also liked the styling (see Route66Vapor for example). An added bonus of the metal was that it carried heat away from the atomizer housing, which I feel is good for the long term health of my atomizer.

Finally, I did some reading and it turns out aluminum dissipates heat better than stainless, so now I have just ordered SuperT's Aluminum T-tip "Shorty" and will give that a go. If it works as well as this chrome tip I'm currently using I will be very happy.

Yay for hassle-free dripping.

You'll love the T-Tip. It's pricey (as you know), but it's the best drip tip on the planet.
