well first of all....you must not vape alot, because even a full mega cartridge wont last me more than a few minutes until i have to start topping off. so regardless of what "system" i was using, i was constantly pulling the cart off and topping off, and i mean every few minutes. ok, so i am still doing that with the delrin drip tip except i am not having to take anything off! just add a few drops with syringe or bottle and vape away and repeat!

I don't understand how you would have to refil after a few minutes. I just use the carts with the liquid already in them, top it off, and its good for at least 2-3 hours of constant vaping. Maybe its how you are using your e-cig? The way I do it is a take a nice long pull on it, getting an excelent throat hit, then wait a minute or two before I take another. This ensures that you are not burning away all your liquid. If you hit it mulitple times in a row, your atomizer gets too hot and just cooks away all the liquid. Let it cool down after each hit and you'll save so much liquid.

Again, I puff on it constantly pretty much all day and I only have to refill my cart 5 or 6 times a day. And when I say constantly I mean I truly do not stop puffing on it from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. I need to cut back haha. I've been puffing on the high nicotine as thats all I have and I really want to get a lower one so I don't have to take in all that nicotine. (Not that I really mind, I do love my nicotine, I just feel that can't be good for my heart)

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
I guess I'm confused because I'm a noob but isn't the carts what holds the juice? I though attys no matter the size can only handle a few drops of juice before they flood.

Look at the picture. The atty is HUGE, and allows the use of a HUGE cart.

Formerly Titanium XL eGo w/ formerly black eGo mega cylinder atty, next to a SmokeStik PitBull 250mAh beta test unit.

Texas, it is a matter of personal preference. I have tried them all, started with Super T, went to other stainless cheapos, delrin, nhaler twisted tips. I don't like the wide mouth ones, too big for me as I used the whistle tips prior to dripping. I was stuck on delrin for awhile but now I really like the anodized aluminum from Hot Vapes, they are light weight, not freezing when you first use them but don't heat up so much like the stainless do after a few hits. They look nice, I will take some pics of my color coordinated ones lol.

where do you order your eGo XP cartomizers? are they extra big cartomizers e.g. hold alot of juice?
i just watched a youtube video on how to use a cartomizer. wow, it seems like so many steps to get it filled-poking inside with a paper clip to get a part out, then filling it, then putting that little plastic part in, etc.....i am not "getting" it...seems so much easier to just straight drip or drip ejuice into a cartridge. are cartomizers really that much of a pia to use?

Dripping is nice. I just got my 510 LR atty and cheapo drip tip today for my ego.. I will be investing in a nice stainless one.. This works perfect for sitting around at my desk working and then I will use the Ego XP cartomizers for when I am out.. I am set. ;)

    Yes. Cartomizers are evil.

StarsAndBars is trying to hit on you, but he's right about the T-Tips. They're the Rolls Royce of drip tips. And if you're worried about the stainless type burning your lips, just try a cartomizer sometime. You'll have 3rd degree burns on your lips for weeks.

Actually, I don't think it has much to do with how hot the atomizer gets.
It is really more of a wicking issue.

That is why changing to different filler material works so well for so many people.
It just wicks a lot better than the standard polyfill that comes with most electronic cigarettes.

Check out the cartridge mods subforum to start exploring different filler materials...

But yeah, if you let it rest for a minute or so after each drag, that gives it time to wick up more juice.
And that will work even with the standard polyfill.

Again, I puff on it constantly pretty much all day and I only have to refill my cart 5 or 6 times a day. And when I say constantly I mean I truly do not stop puffing on it from the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. I need to cut back haha.
And the wicking issue is yet another reason why so many people feel they need to top off so often.

If you let it wick up more juice, or change filler material to something that works good, you really shouldn't need to top off at all.
Just vape it until it's empty (hard to believe, right?) and then fill it all the way back up.

Before I started dripping I was using blue foam and was able to vape it until empty.
And then I would refill with about 20 drops on a standard 510 cartridge.

If anyone is having trouble refilling more than a few drops, they are probably doing one of these things...
    1) Trying to refill when it isn't anywhere near actually being empty
    2) Not using proper refilling techniques

    Proper refilling technique
The problem is, if you are just putting drops right on top of the filler material that comes with the cartridge, it isn't going to sink to the bottom without a little help. You can use the straw modification, or you can use a toothpick or paper clip to push the filler aside a little bit so that it can breathe while you are putting in the drops. Some people use a syringe or a needle tipped dropper bottle to get all the way down to the bottom of the cartridge.

HAVING SAID ALL THAT, YEAH, I'D RATHER JUST DRIP.

Just got eGo XL drip tips, first impression is not so good. Tried it last night and it was just lots of leakage and very little production of vapor. Was cautious because I didnt want to burn my atty but 3 drops and a long drag :nah: I like blowing big clouds.
I read all the advice and I know their is a routine that takes time maybe I will pick up again later on....but it is great trying all alleys to find what works for me.
    Thanks again for the post!

I don't have the XL drip tip, but I made my own by hollowing out a blank eGo mega cart. Works fine for me. I only do this when I am trying a new flavor and I don't want to fill up a cart w/ 2.5ml of juice, but so far dripping on the XL atty works fine. Just 3-4 drops and you get 10 drags. Not really understanding why it doesn't work for you. Do you get good vapor using the carts?
