My thoughts on pricing are different than many here, be it juice or mods or whatever.

A products worth has very little to do with the cost of materials and everything to do with what the market will bear.

I paid top dollar for juice for quite a while because I found a vendor whose stuff I really liked, after numerous attempts, and it was expensive. I still get a bottle once in a while. In the end I started making my own. Maybe if I had gone on buying premade juice I would have eventually found stuff I liked that was cheaper, but at the time it was worth it to me. Especially when you are first off the cigs you really need juice that hits the spot, and when you find that it's worth what it costs.

Looks like the OP is forgetting the things that are associated with an actual business. Like these things listed below

RENT
Employees Salaries
Insurance
Accounting
Sterilizations equipment
City Business License

These are just a few of the things that affect what something costs and you have to look a little deeper into why the cost of something is more than what you can make it for at home. Sure there are companies that charge more and some do have over priced products but you get what you pay for most times if you are a smart shopper.

Although few people put forth the required effort, through competitive shopping and buying ingredients in bulk and only when on-sale a person can make any flavored juice @10mg strength for around $0.015 per ml ($0.45 for 30ml), unflavored for $0.009 per ml and manufacturers can make them for even less. In fact the labeled glass bottle a "premium" juice is contained in costs manufacturers more than the juice they put inside. For the cost of a single $20 bottle of retail juice, a frugal DIY'er could make 1300ml. So why does retail juice cost so much? Manufacturers and vendors have -many- overhead costs that DIY'ers do not and on top of that they require profit which serves as the incentive to do all the work for customers who, for whatever reason, don't want to for themselves. So yes paying $15 to $30 for a 30ml bottle of juice and then $3 to ship it seems like a lot to pay for $0.45 worth of ingredients but such is the price of convenience, leisure and luxury. As long as they can afford to do so, it makes them happy and keeps them away from the stinkies I don't see a problem with it, it's still worth every penny.

Buying premium retail e-liquids may not be very economical but from what I've seen many (if not most) DIY'ers aren't all that frugal either. They buy only as needed on the spur of the moment and for convenience often purchase small quantities of pre-mixed base and other ingredients from local B&Ms or popular on-line vape shops at huge markups spending -many times- more than is necessary to make their own. The cost of convenience and or sloth can be steep but its value is individually subjective. "To each his own"

I've eaten out in 46 states.

I've never once came across a meal on the menu as savory, tender, crispy, succulent and healthy as I can make ... different every day of the year ... for a fraction of the cost ... myself.

Though I'm either not as good at diy as I am in the kitchen, or I don't have enough of the right flavors yet.

I make due.

So I just have to say it, .. if you are an e liquid vendor who charges 20 or more for a tiny 30 ml bottle of juice, you are ripping people off plain and simple. I understand that there is research and development and all that jazz , but seriously though! It's a buck or two to make it and for the larger vendors probably literally cents to produce a 30 ml bottle. Maybe at first the 20 is necessary to recoup cost , but if I go on your website and you have a damn racing team! Lower your freaking prices . And yes everyone I realize I don't have to buy it , that's not the point. The point is when somebody starts out you get bombarded with all these brands and flavors and house juice etc. Then there's the you tubers who "review " products and just flat out lie in some cases . I've already spent a ridiculously stupid amount of money in just a short time on tanks , mods, and more importantly juices which don't last long in the only tank I've found that I actually like so far tfv8 with rebuildable section. So long rant short , there will always be a new sucker but I'm wising up and moving on to a more affordable option, imagine the long term juice companies , not just the quick profit . Over time it's far more profitable to keep your clients at a reasonable rate than to have to drawbthe new crowd over and over who doesn't know any better. Honestly if I was a you tube review person and someone sent me a bottle of juice that was nearly a dOlla per ml I wouldn't even review it ! Because that is called a scam.
Make your own e-juice and save your money. You can make a 30ml bottle for around $3.Ican help you with that.Try my website and save your money. Here is my site.....thebrewtimevaper.com

Shaver and blades, printer and toner/ink, mods and liquids - same pattern all over.

Buy a decent shaver/printer/mod from me and I don't get to see you in my shop for a good while.

Blades get blunt, ink runs dry, juice gets vaped and there you are again in my shop :D

I let you have the hardware for a pittance, now it's fleecing time ;)

DIY is the answer.

Luckily for us vapers, crafting e-liquids at home is far more easier than trying your hand at home-grown printer ink or razor blades.

Business is business. You charge what the market will bear and it's that simple. There is no need to pass any judgements concerning any business's model of operation beyond deciding whether you will do business with them or not. They have the freedom to charge anything they like for their product, as we have the freedom to buy it or not. I'll never say they have "fleeced" anyone though I may be of the opinion they are over charging. However lots of manufacturers charge premium prices for no other reason than to allow their customers to believe they are obtaining a product of higher quality, true or not.

The thing is, if you are using the rhodonite recipe from ENYAWREKLAW, he actually spent a whole lot of time coming up with that recipe, but generously shared his recipe.

It most certainly is ENYAWREKLAW's recipe and I didn't mean it to sound as if it was mine as I'd have trouble making a single flavor recipe on my own. It is a great recipe and you are right, he deserves the credit.
