Wow, those songs were out when I was trying to survive a horrible marriage, living in a horrible city, and had a horrible job. Not the best of times, for me.
My Sr. HS year was a bit earlier:

American Pie - Don McLean
Without You - Harry Nilsson
Happiest Girl in the Whole USA - Donna Fargo
Heart of Gold - Neil Young
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack
Chantilly Lace - Jerry Lee Lewis
Let's Stay Together - Al Green
Oh Girl - Chi-Lites
Funny Face - Donna Fargo
Lean On Me - Bill Withers
It's Not Love (But It's Not Bad) - Merle Haggard

OMG! We got our first Nintendo in 1988 when my daughter was 13. I made her play Zelda until she won. I was relentless....poor kid! :D

25 years ago, you thought people in their early forties were old!!!!!!!!!!!
And back then I was in my forties and hubby was more excited about Nintendo than the kids.

Haha! My mom is 88 and calls people in their 50s kids! And the older I get, yeh, I can see the rationale :p

Nintendo Zelda was the best...I could watch my kids play it for hours.

I was only 3 years old =P watching he-man and tom and jerry

Ha! My oldest son was 5. He loved he-man!

I will never forget - when I was 20 years old, my uncle (my Mother's Brother) died of a massive heart attack. He was 42 years old and left a wife and 4 young children. The entire family was going crazy. I just couldn't understand it. I thought he was old. I couldn't get why they were so shocked. Funny how it is all in it's proper perspective now that I am mature.

So, I was six years behind you. Boomers rule! :) And, grew up in turbulent times. I saw a comment posted on YouTube yesterday by a youngster who stated they had never SEEN a turntable before. I once handed a grocery store cashier a Kennedy Half Dollar as part of a purchase. She held the coin in the palm of her hand, staring at it, slack jawed ... I asked her if she'd ever seen a Kennedy Half before. She had not.

We're cool.

5Card and NCC, there's some good tunes! I still listen to that stuff A LOT! My ol' dog hates (or loves?) Magic Carpet Ride. Sings at the top of her lungs.

Let's don't forget Cream, Blind Faith, Zeppelin, Joplin, Santana, Joe Cocker, etc. I came real close to going to Woodstock with a bunch of friends (from S. Indiana) but at the last minute our VW bus broke down and we couldn't fix it in time. :D

Am I really old? Heck I'm trying to teach my 8yo granddaughter the Cha Cha Slide. 8-o Horrifying. I'm a danger to civilized society.

graduated in 87. I work with young people.. I feel old.. my hair is all platinum white (genetics) and people thing I'm 50+. till I talk, or I get in my car and turn up the stereo.. (I'm a autoaudiophile) and rock some bassmekanik or some megadeth or some disturbed or something.. I'm only as old as I feel, but quite often, I wake up and feel like a stomped dog turd.
