Who makes this battery?

This battery was acquired from Lighthound. Performance wise is pales in comparison with he AW cell. Price point is the same?

Well that's the cell RocketMan used in his rather basic mod.

Being a bit overly safety minded he added a protection circuit from an 18650.

Here's a loaded voltage test @ 2Ω.

Same test this time bypassing the protection circuit.

Performance looks awful good to me. Rocket ain't big on the crazy hours game, but here's a comparison to some 18650 Li-Ions.
Here's an update on the 26650.

7 hours into it and the UNLOADED voltage is 4.05 v.
If you remember my Ultrafire/Trustfire vape tests, I had some of the UF3600 give it up at about 7 hours.

and still kickin at +9 hours, 4.03 volts unloaded.

So basically when typical Li-Ions have quit and this cell is still at 4.05V, that's bad performance?

And they can be found cheaper as AW's only offerings are 2300mAh. The CPF folks seem to like these and have tested them at 3200+mAH.

Pretty damn good for a $10 cell.

I'd love to see some 'paleworthy' performance tests.

Thanks for the update but it still doesn't tell me who makes them, which as you know is somewhat important. Since, I have found the specs on the MNKE and this particular batt is not a MNKE from what I understand.

Speaking of specs, the MNKE falls between this unbranded IMR and the AW. Max continuous output 10A, 15A and 20A.

Far to many folks get hung up on the mAh rating which as we know can be mis-leading. I look at performance vice the mAh rating which can be mis-leading as well. OTOH testing both these batteries in a litmus test (actual vaping experience) for a couple of months, the AW carries more punch, which is supported by the specs. For me, mAh ratings are second to actual performance. Longevity between recharges is a nice feature, but not at the hand of performance. All that being said, if an individual is out and about for an extended period of time away from any power source, then by all means longevity should be a deciding factor over performance.

I may have also acquired a dud with the unbranded IMR, who knows. But I am not about to dish out another $16 to find out if it is an oddity or that is how the battery performs. OTOH, the MNKE was not available at the time of my purchases for comparative purposes, so that batt has not been tested.

When the original thread was posted, I had a specific purpose in mind. After the prototype was developed, the scale was much more proportionate to what I was looking for by using the 26500 vice 26650, so in all honesty it now becomes a moot point. However I believe I now have the appropriate data to explain the rationale of using one over the other, and I thank the folks who have assisted here.

Haven't been following the e-cig forums much lately, no real need since I'm really happy with where I am.
The 26650 cells in the 2 aluminum box mods keep me vaping as much as I want. I usually just swap them out each day before they start to get weak. No failures, still going strong.

Hello to everyone, Rocket is still out there :)
