Same diameter as your 4 wrap....yes...it should, but you should really have a multi-meter, fluke, or even an ohm reader when you're building.

Thanks.

I do. I have a multi-meter and an Ω-meter. I test every build without question, even those I've built many times before.

But since there isn't a calculator to help estimate parallel coils (like steam-engine) I was just trying to get an idea of what I was looking at before I started making coils blindly. It's annoying to take 20 minutes to build a coil only to have it nowhere near what you had hoped for.

Steam Engine does estimate the resistance of dual parallels...

I'm lost. You do know there's a dual parallel option on there right?

So why not choose quad coil (parallel)? I just googled each build and it seems as if dual parallel and quad coil (parallel) are the exact same build on a three post RDA.

That's just what google is telling me though. Just trying to learn a new build I guess I haven't seen.

Shoot, why don't you just do this?

On the left where it says Material and Profile there is a drop down menu for the type of wire and beside that there is one that says "Round" (be default), click on Round and go down one to where it says "Round, multiple strands" Leave the "twist" field blank and set your number of parallel wires down below that.

Bada-bing-bada-boom!

Much appreciated.

The calculator is telling me to roll with 12 wraps to get to .35Ω. Seems like a lot and sounds like it'd take forever to heat up, but we'll give it a shot. I might try and use 28g instead, which makes it 8 wraps. Not so much wire to heat up!

Yeah man.. It was like a holy grail moment when I noticed that awhile back. I typically like to be in the .2-.3 range but when I saw 9 wraps for .25 I had the same assumption that it'd be slow burning. I like the 4 wrap .14Ω I'm using too much much to pull it and try the .25Ω. Poor old Patriot won't take dual parallels.. At least not in 26ga. :(
