26mg WAY too harsh for me! Think 18mg will be much better or should I go 12??

I'm sure different brands are different too, what I have currently is from Cignot, all came from the "Other PG" spot on the site, and they're all 26mg. I'm not real happy with the flavors, they're made by a company called Boge Technology Co Ltd. which is out of china. The flavors are not very distinct, but my main complaint is they're way too harsh and definitely have too much nicotine for me. They give me a buzz, and if I vape too much, a headache and I get dizzy, lol, and I like to vape dangit!

So my question is that I plan on making a purchase from VaporBomb.com, as they seem pretty highly rated on here, and I'm trying to decide between the 18 or the 12. I like a throat hit, but doesn't have to be huge, and I like to vape all the time. It's a new thing to me, so I constantly have my 510 it my hand.

Oh, that's right, hardware. I'm using a Joye 510 I purchased from cignot. I got the kit, so the the basic hardware that comes with the kit.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read and respond to my previous posts, and who are taking the time for this one too! I love this site so much, everyone is SOO helpful and it really really is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!!!

Why not try both? If you get the small 5ml bottled, you won't be out much money and you can give both a fair shake.

And who knows, maybe it will come in handy to have multiple strengths. Higher for cravings or triggering situations (drinking, if you do, after meals, etc), and lower for when you just want to chill out and vape away?

Same problem here with the 24mg, not so much dizzy as the headache. 24mg seems to be what most of the sales are run on, so I bought a bottle of 24mg and a bottle of 0mg and I'm going to play with combinations.

It surprises me that I'm running into this, I was a heavy smoker, at least 2 1/2 packs a day. I'd think that the 24mg would be just right. Just proves that everyone is different.

Hi Magz,
I started out at 25mg from cignot also. I got headaches in the beginning. IOW, I should have started out at 18mg, as I smoked about 3/4 pack a day. But, I just vaped what I had (several 4ml samplers), then next order, I went down to 18mg.

So, live and learn. We all have to experiment to determine what mg strength and flavors float our boats. I think MistressNomad has a good idea in having different mg's for diff. times. You might also consider purchasing 0mg from a vendor in your same vape flavor and adjust your strength according to time of day, times of stress, etc.

As for the juice, don't ditch it. When your taste buds get back into full flavor, those juices might taste different to you.

Welcome to ECF, Happy vaping and have a wonderful summer! :)

Hey Magz!

Here's something you may want to try (what I would do in your situation). Order a bottle of 24mg, and a bottle of the same flavor in 0 nic (if not offered, request and VB will mix it for you), and a bunch of empty 3ml dripper bottles (good to have these on hand anyway).

With this you can mix any nic level you want: 18mg -- 80% 24mg (4 drops)/20% 0mg (1 drop)... 12mg -- 50%/50% (24mg/0mg)... 6mg -- 30%/70% (24mg/0mg)... etc.

Who knows, you may want to keep some 24mg for those times of craving, and 0mg for when you just want to kick back w/o any poison. lol

Like I said, that's what I would do, but it's only a suggestion.

Good luck to you Magz!

ps: order those 3ml bottles anyway...comes in real handy when you want to have fun and mix some of your flavors, or consolidate all the little left overs in your old bottles and surprise yourself w/ an original creation. lol

Boge is DeKang. They're the biggest company out there for e-liquid and they do have their fans. I'm not one of them.

Because I used to smoke a little over 3 packs a day, I started by vaping 24-36mg. What I forgot was that I inhale every puff from my PV. My cigarette used to burn in the ashtray and I'd get a few puffs from each one. As I got more used to vaping, I did it more until I got a headache and nauseated. This is known as overdosing. It is not a good thing. I promptly dropped to 12mg and I didn't suffer any withdrawal symptoms.

In my case 10mg and 12mg wasn't quite right.... 24mg made me see sheep, aliens, and Mother Theresa (Not good).

18mg was just right for me. I'm still vaping down a lot of 10mg and 12mg stuff as an alternative to my "all day juice".

Also- it might be worth mentioning that I have this really great menthol from Intellicig which is 10mg which vapes fine and is satisfying. So sometimes it's the flavor- but I generally only use unflavored 18mg PG, light tobacco flavor, or menthol.

I was a 1.5 pack smoker.

I got 18mg with my original order and that wasn't quite cutting it so I ordered some 24 and 36 and that helped me quit. Now I vape both the 24 and 18 during the day and have the 36mg around for when I'm having some beers and sometimes first thing in the morning.

I also bought some VG from the grocery store to cut down the higher mg juice.

So far it sounds like you would like 12mg. Were you smoking full or lights & how many/day?
If you order similar flavors you can mix down. For example 1/2 26 mg & 1/2 12 mg= 26+12 /2=19mg

I did not see a lot of diff between 24 & 18 mg.

I thought that harshness is more a function of PG/VG ratio, as opposed to nicotine content. To me, pure PG-based liquid is too harsh, whereas pure VG liquid has absolutely no throat hit... like water vapor.

Does nicotine actually have a harshness factor?

For a short answer, hells yeah! LOL!

Seriously, I have the 26mg, cut down to 12 (then tried 18) all else being the same, the nic levels really can make a difference with TH.

It's not the only thing, of course (I've got some TVs in 12mg that have good throat hit just due to flavor, I think; battery strength seems to affect it as well). But I've definitely found nic levels affect TH.

All of my juices are 25mg nic all vg, and they all have very soft or 0 th. I've had 18mg pg/vg that had me coughing (felt like inhaling a cheap cigar) and I dumped that, and I've tried a friend's 12mg that was still too much th for me.

I also have some samples of 36mg vg juice with very mild th.

The pg/vg base is the biggest factor in th imo, and the flavor also plays a big part (e.g. 0 nic Atomic Cinnacide from TV has a huge th).
