2nd attempt at twisted 28ga Ka1

I used my remaining 12ft of Ka1 to make this strand. It came out much better then my 1st attempt.

Penny is 19.05mm diameter, and I count 39 twists .. and that comes out to 0.488mm pitch.

I have not made any coils yet, I am still using some leftover from my first attempt: 1.27mm pitch, dual 7/6 wraps, 2.5mm ID, 0.31 ohm. Steam Engine says my new strand should be 6/5 wraps if I want to get it to 0.37 ohm.

That looks great! I have some 30g A1 on its way so have been looking into what coils I can build with it, it will be with my very first rda so I am very excited to start building!

I assume you used a drill for this twist? I don't have a drill at my apartment but might be able to snag one from my dad for a few days

Yep, I used my Makita cordless to twist them. Good luck, have fun building them.

I have heard of people twisting them by hand, attaching it to objects to pull the strands tight as your wrapping. Just in case I cant get the drill right away ;D

I used a pen and a pair of pliers to twist some 28G. Worked great.

i'm vaping on a 4 strand crude semi twisted 34 gauge.
It's more efficient than I expected.
its at about 7 watts I think with my kick module

I use 2 strand twisted 34g in my protanks, and triple strand 28g in my mutation and subtank mini at 4 wraps I get around .44 ohms 2.5mm inside diameter..... I get a lot more flavor from the triple strand imo.....

That's how I straighten wire and make my twisted wires. Using a drill is fast and easy, but I can control the pitch better, using gravity and centrifical force to twist the wire.

Made some S hooks from a wire hanger, Tie the ends to the hooks. 1 hook goes on a eye hook in the ceiling, on the lower hook I hang a weight, my favorite is my 14" pipe wrench. Then I just spin the wrench, until desired pitch is reached. Now, once desired pitch is reached I let it unwind, naturally. I just let it spin back a forth till the wrench settles. FWIW I use the same wrench, as the weight, for tensioned coils. I use a homemade "Artistic Coil Gizmo" to wind my coils. Can make perfect no pinch, contact coils or spaced coils, just by adjusting the angle of the rod. Wind uphill to get contact, wrap downhill to get spaced.
