2nd time Newbie?

Hey Folks! I actually have been here before, I believe 2 years ago. I have a Tornado e-cig...and love it! Anyhoo, I never did quit smoking entirely, and some other stuff came up and I went back to full-time analogs. With the prevailing, "No smoking anywhere"policies ever on the increase, I have to give it the old college try. I have worked in security and law-enforcement related fields for 24 years...and they ALWAYS smoked! However, more employers are banning smoking, and some are even testing for nicotine when testing for illicit drugs. Time to begin again!
I am very pleased to see that ECF has a foothold and is thriving!!

Welcome back home OnnaB. Hope this time you are here to stay . I also went back to analogs... but returned about 7 months ago - and haven't smoked since. Wow I'm shocked to hear about the nicotine testing!

Thanks to you both! The nicotine testing bugs me, because even if you ONLY vape, the test will show nicotine...they will assume you smoke! I need to quit smoking...the cost...the horrendous smell....the newest laws, etc. Wish me luck! Next pay...off to the vendors...lol!

Good luck, I KNOW you can do it! . Very interesting regarding the testing etc. maybe when you have enough posts and you are in the mood you can start a new thread about it. It sure will make for some interesting debates lol.

Any drug testing feels like a violation of one's privacy... but testing for legal substances? You've got to be kidding me...

I know. First, within the job application it states that you cannot smoke on their property or in their vehicles. It doesn't say you can't smoke at all. Later in the application, they want you to sign that you understand they will test for illicit drugs and nicotine!! Um....they don't explain where that might go. I'm guessing I would be denied a job, or health insurance...or be made to pay more for health insurance. Sigh...I really wish they'd attack other "drugs" like they do nicotine. Trust me, if I find out what all this means, I will post about it!

In the same boat as you. I was vaping and then went back to regular cigarettes and now I'm back to vaping. Keep it up.!
