I hope this is in the right place... if not sorry. I'm not new to mechs, but I got this assuming it was going to have a magnetic switch like the 4nine but after a few days of using it and the switch getting red hot I decided to inspect and go figure it's a spring loaded switch. My question is can I even convert this to magnets? I'm using MNKE/Purple Efest and even if I do a ~.3 build after a 7 second hit I can't touch the switch for a few minutes. The battery and tube itself isn't hot at all, it's just the switch and I have gone back to my Magneto for the time being because I like to chain vape long lung hits and I can't do it with this. I can post pics in a few, but I'm rather disappointed in this situation... Thanks

Make sure the copper pin in the switch is making good physical contact with the bottom of the battery. Also, make sure that the copper pin is adequately screwed onto the button post. The spring isn't carrying any amperage, so it shouldn't be getting hot at all. It should be metal-to-metal-to-metal-to-metal (bottom of battery, copper pin, button, tube) contact, so there shouldn't be much resistance for anything to heat up except the coil.

Well it's sitting in a drawer for fear it will burn my house down. The whole pinless concept is cool but when the pin on my TOBH clone was stuck out a bit I didn't realize it was auto firing when I sat it down on the table. Couple minutes later I came back to it, picked it up and was greeted to a pretty nice burn on my hand and the TOBH and battery trashed. I'm just glad it didn't pop but it could've been a lot worse. I just got a logoless Manhattan and it pretty much craps all over the 2sux (see what I did there?) I'm sure the authentic is awesome but this clone was not for me.

Yeah, one of my batteries was too long, and I had to crush the top down a little bit to get it to work without autofiring. Now it works great, but that's not the best solution ever.

why didn't you just sand the top insulator down a little?

Pierced you too. My igo-w was not connecting so I just sanded down the top insulator a tad bit. Also they do have magnetic switches for the 2Six, just google it and get it on amazon. Also the reason the button is getting hot is because there is electricity jumping somewhere, make sure all the connections are tight.

Just got my 4Nine a few days ago and it works better than the Manhattan imho. I review vape stuff and if it is good for me then there is no reason you can't figure this out.

There is no top insulator though. The atty screws in and has direct contact with the battery. There is a little disc the thickness of those rings that keep paper from tearing but that's it. I figured it was arcing on the switch as that's all that heats up but maybe you got a different manufacturer? I think mine is cigreen or something. EDIT: Maybe I'm missing something now I'm confused lol

that little plastic ring at the top is the insulator, it prevents your mod from short circuting your battery. just try to make all the conections tight if it uses a pin in the bottom. Or buy a magnetic switch pack for the 6six, i am sure they have it somewhere.

Link, please. I haven't seen any tested ones. I'm pretty sure the 17mmX10mmX1mm ring magnets will work, but I haven't seen a page for anyone who has actually tried them.

those are the ones i'm talking about, also i know for a fact that they exist because my local b&m sells the 2Six with a magnetic switch. and also if you have a nemisis(i have two) you can get a magnetic conversion kit, which is something i think i will do because i love the 4nine switch. I find it hard to use my nemesis now that i have my 4nine

Do you have the 26650 4nine, or do you have a 2six? The one with the cutouts and the magnetic switch is the 26650 4nine, and the one without the cutouts and the spring switch is the 2six. There are also at least two different variations of 2six clones, one made by Tesla with the narrow but long delrin insulator in the topcap, and one made by I don't know who, that has the wide but shorter delrin in the topcap, and appears to be a 1:1 clone of the authentic Tarsius Customs. Which one do you have, exactly?

Am I just doing a horrible job searching? I'm finding a whole bunch of nothing.

I couldn't find anything either, so I went ahead and ordered some of those 17mm X 10mm X 1mm magnets. I'll report back here after I've tried them out and let you know how they work.

The magnets arrived today, and I got to try them out on my Tesla clone (the one with the long but narrow delrin insulator in the topcap). The magnet was a good fit for the top part of the button, but I needed to use a little gorilla glue to center the other magnet on the bottom part of the button (the part you press). After doing that, it works! The two magnets eat 1mm each, so they decrease the maximum throw of the button by 2mm total. This makes it trickier to adjust everything so that it works well with specific batteries, depending on their lengths. I have a different 2six clone arriving in a few days, so I'll post more information and pictures when that arrives.

More information. I got the other model of 2six clone, and the magnets don't work with that one out of the box. I was able to modify the top cap to make it work by grinding out the hole where I put the magnet in the Tesla clone, but it's not a trivial mod to make. I'll be posting a blog about that one as well.
