Hello!
I have searched the ATE forum and found one question similar to mine, but the answer didn't quite meet my needs so I hope this isn't considered a repeat.
I ordered a DSE901 kit recently and had issues with both of the auto batteries. I had to send them both back to the supplier. While waiting for them to return I purchased a DSE901 manual USB passthrough from Rocky Mountain Vapor. I absolutely love it. The vapor and flavor are very much improved over the 901 with the fully charged auto battery (the one that worked before it decided not to turn off). I don't love being chained to my laptop and want to get something portable with a similar vaping experience to the PT. I want to purchase a mod that utilizes the 801 cart as I have read the flavor, which is the most important factor to me, is great and they hold more fluid. My question is will a 3.7 Volt Mod be most similar to vaping with the DSE901 PT or do I need to go up to a 5 Volt Mod? Thank you for any guidance or suggestions you can provide me!

Hi Missy,

5 volts is 5 volts wheather it comes from a battery, passthough off of a laptop, or from a wall plug adaptor. If you enjoy the 901 off of a passthough then you are going to want to stay with 5 volts. That is why many people shy away from 3.7 volt "in-line" passthoughs using 10440 batteries as they are only getting 3.7 volts from the battery and plugging an in-line passthough into a 5 volt outlet is only going to charge the battery----not up the voltage. So go with a 5 volt Mod to experience what you are getting with your current 901 passthough.
