Never tried a 3.7V mod, but am considering an ICON (Puresmoker). Since standard Joye 510s are at 3.7V, I wonder what advantages a mod has. The ICON uses (1) 14500 batt (unprotected). What I would hope for (for $100+) is better vapor due to more consistent voltage (less voltage drop), longer batt life, & lighter weight than a larger mods (I now use a 6V occasionally = very heavy). Vapor production is my prime concern. (I do question why they use unprotected batts vs the protected version). Anyone with more mod experience have some thoughts or comparison experience with 3.7V mods & higher?

I have an Icon. Love it. Had it for about 3 weeks. It has everything I was looking for. I don't understand when people say they only get 8 or 10 hours from a battery. I easily, easily get a full 24 hours of what I would consider fairly heavy use out of a charge on the Tenergy batts that come with Icon. Actually, I have yet to kill a battery, I just always change when it gets to about 3.7 volts (starting at about 4.2).

I have no experience with a 6 volt device, so I can't really compare. My previous was the Janty Dura C. It was ok, but the Icon is much more vapor, much more consistent, and of course way longer battery. Just figured you would like an opinion from an Icon owner. That being said, I highly recommend it.

I use a nicostick which uses a single 14500 battery. Most 510 batts are listed as 3.7 but acutally put out 3.1 to 3.3 volts. My nicostick does put out more vapor with most juices.

If what you are looking for is just more vapor, you might want to look into putting some VG in some of your juices. Humco brand is available at WalMart for about $3.00 and would be cheaper to try. I mix most of my juices with 30% VG for the vapor.

Battery life will really depend on how you vape. I normally get about 5 hours out of a 14500 battery on my Mods, I am a heavy vaper. A 18650 will give me a full day.

There are many models to choose from, Provape, BB, VPYR, Chuck and Little Chuck etc... all will give a slightly different vape than the next. I would say the best thing is to read and watch reviews on the models that you have interest in and pick which ever one fits your needs... or do what most of us have done, over time just buy them all. Enjoy!

thats what I do too.. You can always sell to someone that needs another PV.. That is part of the experience that makes vaping so much fun is trying new PVS.
