Sortta new to vaping. Think I have found my "all-day" juice. Still looking for the best atty/carto/tank that does not leak no matter how you sit the PV. But my question for today is what is the difference between vaping at 3.7v and vaping at 5v. Right now I am using a 650 mah ego batt. with the new storm chaser tank from SVC. I am also having trouble with the draw on everything that I have tried (atty w/ cart, ego-t, and the storm chaser) I feels like I am just sucking air. If anyone has any advice on anything all comments are appreciated. TIA.

Are you taking nice slow draws? Rule of thumb here is to press the button for a second before you start your draw then go nice and slow, usually 4 or 5 seconds. Then inhale and slowly release through nose and mouth.

The only other thing I can think of is are you using a cone on your eGo? They usually tighten up the draw some.

Vaping at 5v's is a much warmer vape. :vapor:

wattage, choice and batt life...a 1.7 ohm carto @3.7v will vape like a 3.0 @5v will...BUT, the 5v will live longer because it is not having to pull as many amps out of the batt to do so...you also have a larger range of choices in wattage(translates to heat and vapor) to vape at with the 5v...that is the short easy answer without getting mondo technical on ya...if you want to play around and see what different volts/resistance give you in terms of watts/amps, here ya go... A good 5 volt model will provide warmer vapor, fuller vapor, better throat hit and more consistency over 3.7v vaping. And you don't have to use LR attys. One of the best 5 volt models is the GLV2 with a lifetime warranty:

Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Another option is variable volt or power regulated (heat adjusted by changing watts) models. You will have a complete range from about 3.7v to 6 volt or with power regulated 4.2 watts to 12.7 watts. I use the power regulated Darwin and it really is the top of the line in vaping consistency and warm vapor:

@Tracy, Yes I have been taking slow draws and been using the cone but it still doesn't help.

@madjack I kinda get what you are saying and it makes some since.

@wv I am actually considering getting a GLV3 but don't know if I will be better served with a 3.7v or a 5v. But at $200 for a mod I want to be sure as it has taken me a year to talk my husband into buying it for me. I would really like to try to find the "sweet vape" that I see everyone talk about on here. Would the volts make a difference with the draw or it that something that atty/carto/or tank would address?

I'm a carto guy(no attys/cart or snap in tanks)...1.7ohm Resurrectors and Boge2.0s from crystalclearvaping.com(and other vendors) doit for me...if I were going to spend the big bucks on a mod, it wouldn't be for a 3.7 device...a 5v or variable voltage like the BuzzPro or ProVari would be the choices...of course, you could get a VV box mod for around 50bux or so and a 5v boxmod even cheaper.........

You listed a lot of things you have tried but have you tried what most people prefer? plain Cartomizers

The most popular cartomizers are Boge and then there are a bunch more complex and more exotic types, both stuffing and reservoir. I know you tried a big CE2 tank but there are more cartomizers.

Re 5v, consider variable voltage so you can crank up all of your current stuff

The VV mods make a world of difference imop you can adjust all cartos and attys to your desire.I own 3 VV mods nothing else cuts it now. These combined with dualcoil cartos and very happy after over 2 years vaping.I find provari to be the best you can check your battery life, atty, carto ohms and adjust volts.I also have a Krimson Kustom evercool VV this is a box mod built to your specks less bells and whistles then provari but light weight and well built. Also cheaper in price then manyy VV's great quality though.

Re the draw - What PG/VG juices are you using? I like juices that move quickly to redampen the coil so I use juices with 20% or less VG and I avoid all juices that drop a bunch of flavoring sediment (just clogs up everything)

And are you pressing the button in before you start dragging? I press the the button about 2 seconds early, then start my drag and don't drag too hard, then right before the end of my drag I let up the button, finish my drag, then inhale.

I had similar problems, until I ordered the boge 2.0 cartomizers. I did this initially on Madjack's advice and did not actually try them until I had run the gambit with tanks and atomizers and other carts.

As dormouse mentioned, there are a lot of options, but the boge 2.0 packs from crystalclearvaping.com are a great deal. I found my sweet spot with Velvet Vapors Turkish Blend, excellent light colored juice with great flavor and fantastic throat hit.

Try this first as it's an inexpensive alternative. Good luck!

EDIT: I lay my ego-t batt with boge cart on it's side all the time with no problems, A drip tip on top of the carto is nice too. If you order the bundle from ccv, you will get two drip tips with it as well.

No I haven't tried the carto. Another question (probably crazy) is there anyway that I can see what 5v vapeing is like before I buy a mod? Where is the best place to get the carts? Can u lay them on there side?

a 5v passthru(with 2amp power supply to drive it) or an inexpensive 5v or variable power boxmod(35bux) from Custom Mods among others would be your best shot before spending a couple of hundred bux...

...for CARTOS(not carts) Crystal Clear Vaping has a bundle(15) deal that is hard to beat...Boge2.0LR(1ml juice) for 20 bux, Resurrector1.7s(2ml juice) for 21.50 or even DCCs for 32...along with the cartos CCV will throw in 2 drip tips, a syringe and free shipping...a darn good deal......

5v is not better than 3.7v, it is just different, and there is no law that says you can't enjoy both.

Oh and my VV box mod with a carto tank is laying flat on it's side right now (as it usually is) ... not a drop leaking anywhere.

Nope...5V isn't like 3.7V. I use both but for different reasons. Some people will tell you that using low resistance on 3.7V is the same as vaping at 5V...not true. It is suppose to simulate it but it doesn't if you have tried both. 5V is a hotter vape and just flat produces more of everything if you're using a juice that will allow it. Not all juice is good at 5V...some is better in terms of flavor at 3.7V. The best advice I can give is to get an inexpensive VV mod box from Krimson Kustoms...around $60 shipped from JamesW. As for cartomizers leaking...not unless you overfill it. I've had them on their side without problems. I even had one upside down for a few hours and nothing leaked out. It comes down to what YOU like in terms of vapor, flavor, and TH...variable voltage gives you the best of all worlds and you don't need low resistance atty's or carto's...standard resistance works the best. If you want it warmer, turn up the mod...cooler, turn it down. Variable voltage allows the user to "fine tune" your juices in.

The question on the draw is more dependent on the atty or carto you are using since you are using an eGo PV. They do get gunked up and harder to draw. Some attys particularly provide a smoother/airy draw, such as the 801.

If you get the GLV3 definitely get the 5 volt model. You will be better served in the long run with warmer vapor and better throat hit without needing to depend on LR attys which IMO do not hold up as well.

Good advice from madjack. Getting a pass-through or an inexpensive 5 volt box mod is the least expensive way to try 5 volt vaping. The only problem with the pass-through, other than being tied to a power source and the fact that most are vey cheaply made, is you will need to also purchase a USB to AC 5v/2 amp adapter because you don't want to plug it into your computer.

I would get the 5 volt box mod and then if you like it and want to get a better one, you can use the box mod as your backup. Another reputable and well support supplier of box mods is Ken's. His 5 volt box mod (which I have) is $37 and with the batteries and charger comes out to about $57.

Lots of good info provided already and all I'll suggest is this. I highly recommend that you solve your problems before buying an expensive mod of any kind. I know it's time consuming, but we're all so different and in the end it comes down to what you like and can live with. Good luck and happy vaping.
