3 day old newb with qs

Hey guys
I originally got an ecig to quit smoking analogs. Its been two days since me last real smoke and I couldn't be happier..but I did it by getting the njoy npro duo starter kit(in new orleans at the mushroom its $90 bc they know they are one of the few places woth kits and refills:/) but immediately after my first draw I started laughing! I felt so stupid for not trying this sooner. I was smoking 3 packs a day a few days ago, now I can't imagine smoking kools again. Thay being said I have some questions..
I keep seeing reviews on here about how njoy is crap..I love mine and ha ent had any probs(owned for two days) but maybe its because I havebt tried anything else?
But the only thing I don't like about my npro is that the vapor is sometimes inconsistant. Esp for those using ecigs to quit smoking vapor is a huge part of it to feel gratified.
Also I've seen so many models on here talked about..bt for me I need something that looks like an analog and tastes like a menthol. A friend showed me her ecig. It had a blu tip but was not the 'blu' brand. Started with a V..I hated dealing with te filling of atomizers. Mine has cartomizers and is an easy system. Perfect for me. But I kept hearibg about greensmoke and seeing awesome video reviews and testimonials..but then I found this forum and every othr post says stay away from greensmoke lol..I just want to know if therea a simple kit out there that is very similar in loks to njoy(analog look alike) but with more consistancy and uses cartomizers???
Please help:/

Welcome! I also started with an N Joy. My main problem with it was the vastly inflated cost for what you get (not to mention the price of the carts). My upgrade kit was around $30.

I usually recommend what was recommended to me (Riva 510 starter kit), but it doesn't look like an analog. The desire for an analog-look is going to hamper your vaping experience. I'm sure you'll get lots of good responses. Good luck!

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

Sad to say, that's the way it is.

For a beginner, I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than an eGo/Riva size UNLESS the person only smokes 6-7 cigarettes a day. If they are a normal close to full pack a day smoker, then you need one that is at least this size which is the size of a slim cigar.

BUT, a better long term option from a cost perspective is the E-Power. Much less expensive batteries that last 5 time longer than the eGo type batteries:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - E-Power

e-Power

Note: always stick with manual batteries, not auto batteries.

Hello side show and welcome. I started with a 510 mini, then a 901, then a KR808 and all this over about 1 month. I finally took the plunge with a Riva 1100Mah and am very happy with it. I, like you, did not want something that did not look like an analog but the fact is the battery charge time is frustrating, you are limited on using standard resistance carts or atomizers, etc. I spent a lot of money looking for a mini that did it for me.

It may have been the Volt (Smokeless Image Volt) that your friend was using. The Volt looks like a cigarette and they have many color batteries that have the blue led tip on the end. Do some research on the Smokeless Image Volt on ECF. They have good reviews and are consistent.

Lots of people start on Njoy Npro but usually pay less at 7-11 buying it as Njoy 2-n-1

It is a second tier model - some support in the marketplace but not a lot. So there are a few kinds of blanks cartomizers and atomizers. Mostly just the same kind. Prefilled available at Njoy and Smokestik. Some parts available at AZSMokeFree.com (including a manual battery which should be totally sealed on the threaded end and safe from damage by juice leaks) and Vaporkings.com

Nothing wrong with it other than manufacturers of new kinds of cartomizers etc rarely make them for RN4081

Nice PCC available at NoSmokeVA that fits 510 and RN4081 (different female threadings but it's a push-in PCC, not screw-in). The $29.95 listing is the PCC alone.

-----

For more consistency use manual batteries which are also safer from being damaged or killed by juice leaks.

If you want prefilled cartomizers the most popular and best supported model is KR808D-1. Vapor4Life has the standard KR808D-1 and SmokelessImage Volt (as well as Bloogplanet and Halocigs G6) are the newer rubberized model - nice batteries with a bit more charge, the downside being an very tiny button on the manuals and a shorter safety cutoff (you may need to turn a long drag into 2)

I recommend the medium standard size aka 78mm batteries (makes 120mm ecig with the cartomizer on). I recommend manual batteries.

dormouse (as always) with great advice...

I can't go without saying, however, that all of us feel we must have something that looks like an analog at first. I got over this in about three days... Most "graduate" to a larger model for various reasons (Much longer battery life, more consistent vapor production, generally better vape, to name a few). Most folks who don't move on to larger models typically will use Volt or Vapor4Life models... No personal experience, but I hear that they offer excellent support. Just like with big tobacco, repeat business is highly sought after in this endeavor. Some (like GreenSmoke) will try to do it by selling an obscure product that doesn't have easily available accessories, others (like V4L and Volt) do it by offering excellent service...

If you know someone who has an eGo (or Riva, or EPower), try it out... Once you see what's possible with better equipment, you won't care what it looks like. Mine looks NOTHING like an analog, and I don't care. You may find (as I did) that I wasted money on two kits rather than going straight for an eGo setup (I dig the tanks, but that's a whole different discussion).

I spent $119 all togetger on a starter kit and menthol carts...so I don't think I'm going to spend another 140 on a gs kit..but the carts for njoy are $20 for five of them n I'm no sure if I could refill them and idk if it would be a good idea bc its an auto bat..

How long do those carts last you? For $100, you can get an eGo kit with two batteries and refillable cartos, and enough juice to last you at least a month...

the npro is a decent starter unit.. I started out with it, and from time to time I pull it out as a memory from quitting analogs...you can take the cartos apart, wash the filler (if you didn't run it so dry the coils burnt a hole in the filler) rewrap it and just drip juice along the filler and replace the cap... the newer npro batts are hit or miss because they made the hole smaller , and shortened the cutoff to like 5 seconds... as long as it works for you stick with it and happy vaping :)

there is a place that sells the cartos prefilled and cheaper then njoy... its like $5 for 5 carts.. http://azsmokefree.com/

SmokelessImage Volt and Vapor4Life are KR808D-1, a true 3.7v slim mini, actually more voltage than 510 or Ego (3.2-3.4v). With their medium size batteries (aka 78mm batteries) or some use the extra long batteries from Vapor4Life, the battery life is decent for a slim mini.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html

I still love 510 manuals (I much prefer the mega xl manuals - they hold up the voltage plateau better, but I use the standard short manuals when out of the house because of the roomy PCC I have from NoSmokeVA). I love the moist vapory vape on Boge 510 cartos (and I think I am using close to 100% PG on it - a Vapor4Life WOW juice). The hit is a bit softer/moister than with the same juice on a KR8 with a Vapor4life WOW carto. I can get about 50% more use out of a Boge carto than a KR8 carto too. If I use a pair (one Boge 510 and one Vapor4Life WOW carto, I can get 2 weeks out of the pair and an extra week out the Boge, vaping each 1/2 the time)

And I love my KR8's (manuals, standard aka 78mm battery size). I have gotten my nicotine pretty low and I appreciate the warmer sharper hit of the KR8's.

I have tried to give up one or the other and can't choose.

I also got a Riva 510 and I carry a charged battery with me. It's higher voltage than the slim 510 and I stick my standard res Boge 510 carto on there when I want more hit. It is also my portable battery backup in case I get stuck away from power longer than I expect. I was a lights smoker and never a hard dragger. I have also reduced my nicotine level and need for hard TH since I started vaping. So I don't need to use LR cartos on the Riva. I prefer to get the full battery life for my purposes. But people who like hotter hits love Boge 2.0 and other LR cartos and attys on Riva and Ego and other large battery devices.
